Can't complain
Aug. 30th, 2007 03:31 pmSoooo, yeah, I wasn't feeling too great yesterday. By contrast, I am feeling pretty awesome today.
I talked to a client earlier, and was a bit nervous, because I thought he had a problem with what I'd done so far, but it turns out that all the issues he had were simply because the site's still in-progress, and all the products/categories aren't in yet. He actually sounded pretty darned happy with everything, otherwise.
I finished this and got paid for it this morning. I didn't get paid a *lot*, because she helped us as a backup shooter and I subsequently cut her a break on the price. So, yeah, it's not super-whizbang or anything--and it still needs an image preloader--but I still get the warm fuzzies that come with having it finished. :) And she says she plans to contract with me when she needs site maintenance, so that's a w00t for repeat business.
And lordy, I have ideas for lots of things. It's just a matter of getting the ball rolling on the execution.
Oh yeah, and I attended a web seminar today about management and leadership, and it actually gave me some good things to think about, not only as far as dealing with my own bosses and subordinates, but also with regards to how I think about business planning. It was more interesting than I expected, for sure.
There will be lots of moving happening at the house, over the next few days. Fortunately, only a small portion of it actually involves moving *my* crap. :D
Also, I have been Simpsonized, and that has been iconized! Hope there aren't any environmentalists out there waiting to stone me over the half-facetious "I <3 Nuclear Power" thing. ;)
Oh yeah, and I get the big monthly check tomorrow. Can't complain at all about that!
