Everything sucks but food
May. 18th, 2007 12:28 pmWe made this for dinner last night, and it turned out very tasty. I've never cooked with asparagus before, so I'm glad it turned out!
Also, we stopped in at this place called Vendetta a couple nights ago, and they actually had food that was *not* your usual bar selection of greaseball fries, onion rings, and poppers! I got their tacos and liked them muchly, and they also had some good vegetarian and vegan selections on the menu. Definitely a pleasant surprise.
Otherwise, things kind of suck. I'm still grumpy about wushu; don't get me wrong, I like that I'm getting to do it, and all, but 45 minute classes are so *short*, and the conditioning is kid stuff. And speaking of kid stuff, that's the majority of who's in my white belt class: at least half of my classmates are probably under the age of 8. Not exactly a good environment to build any lasting relationships with one's peers. :p
I'm also being passed over for one of the jobs I went up for; granted, I haven't gotten the official No, as of yet, but I have a strong hunch. :p I'm busting my hump at my office, the rest of the time, trying to get my contracting business up to speed. My list still seems huge and endless, though, and I feel like I'm woefully behind on all of it.
Generally, it just seems like nothing wants to cooperate with me this week. Stylesheets are giving me crap (thank you SmugMug), my attempts at creating print templates without a proper print design app are frought with nastiness, half my rear bike gears are bent and thrashed, my work schedule extends late into the evening, the crap in my lungs from my Eugene allergies still plagues me when I run, my friggin' hamstrings get ridiculously sore (probably due to lack of wushu)...
Well, at least the photo business seems to be gaining some momentum. We booked another wedding this week, and an ongoing event shoot, too. At least my crappy luck hasn't extended its reach *that* far. :p I'm really pleased with how the new design is working out, too.
So, yeah, I guess everything *doesn't* completely suck. (what? I have a flair for hyperbole!) But jeez, a lot of folks seem to be taking pot shots at my ego. Thanks, I GET IT. Jeez.
