"Do you still run?" "Only when chased."
May. 9th, 2006 05:32 pmI just found this picture from SomethingAwful on a random forum, and I nearly shot water out my nose. Eeehehehee. :D
I've been in that sort of mood where I'm looking to find new challenges, and now I'm considering entering the Eugene Challenge Mile race in a couple weeks. Of course, there is the fact that I reeeeally suck at running, but I used to like doing midnight runs when I lived in the dorms, and running is something that I've thought about trying again, now that I'm in better shape. I could definitely use some extra endurance for wushu, too.
I'm thinking that I can train for the race over the next couple of weeks--well, assuming my ankle doesn't start complaining, anyway--and if I get good benefits and don't hate the running, I can keep doing it. And if not? I run the race, mark it down as a Thing I've Done, and call it good.
I'm not sure of the Time or Location yet, but I'm pimping this in advance: me and my wushu homeys are having a fund-raiser Car Wash on May 20th! If you have a car, we'd love it if you came down, got your car washed, and made a donation. The club's in debt after hosting that tournament back in March, so we have to make some money back.
Speaking of wushu,
the_lizzel, where y'at? David thought you were coming to practice yesterday...?
Lazy Tuesday is going to be very not-lazy again. That figures. ;p Laundry, scans, cleaning house, and some other stuff that I'm currently forgetting. I should just make an effin' list. :p
The rest of the week is also looking to be busy. We're looking at doing a second shoot for the eco-friendly fashion article on Saturday evening, and after that, I get behind the camera for a bit and do some more shooting with Ben and David. I may also be doing a photoshoot probably tomorrow or Thursday night for a new local photographer: night-time shooting! We're shooting after sundown, with the available light, so I'm curious to see what kind of results we get... he apparently shoots stock, too, so if it goes well, maybe I'd get a paid gig sometime.
I have to say, this whole process as of late has been interesting. I've been learning a lot about photography as a business, from both sides of the camera. Hopefully I can get a new camera for myself sometime in the near future, and start doing some serious photography. Or, at the very least, I can eventually market some mad skills as a photo retoucher. :)
That's all. ::poof!::
