junsiew is TEH WINNAR today. I picked up a couple ounces of Pleine Lune (one of her favorites) the other day, and my god, THE SMELL! I think I even prefer it over the Wedding Imperiale, although all of the Mariage Freres teas have been great so far. The French certainly seem to know their food and drink.
Yesterday was rather busy, but interesting. I got up early to do a wushu demo at a local high school, with the scant few team members who could actually make it. I wasn't initially going to do it, because sleeping in sounded about a million times better, but then Phil said the magic phrase--"they're paying us in cash"--and I was fully on board. ::laughs:: Instead of the money going straight to the club funds, we got to split the payment equally and keep it for ourselves. So, I made an easy $25 for a 10-minute demo! Hell yes. :)
Yesterday evening, I went to orientation for a literacy partnership program at a local middle school--I'm volunteering to help a kid with his or her reading, you see. In retrospect, I'm not sure how well-suited I am to this task, because I rarely have time for recreational reading these days. I used to be a pretty avid reader before I graduated from high school, though, so maybe I can tap back into that while I'm volunteering. I think a lot of these kids probably just need the extra one-on-one attention that most public schools aren't able to give them, so maybe I can still be helpful.
Weekend is looking rather busy. Saturday will consist of RPing, followed by extra wushu practice, because I need to have the last 2 sections of nanquan drilled into my brain eight days from now, *somehow*. Sunday, in its entirety, is property of J, because we were both sick on V-Day and subsequently didn't do anything even remotely special.
As usual, the moments when you just want to curl up and sleep are exactly the moments when you don't have time to do so. Blargh!
