Movie Jibba-jabba! Tonight, James and myself are thinking of hitting the buck-fifty theater and seeing Stepford Wives at 7:25, so if you want to join up, say the word. I eventually want to see Hero, too, because Jet Li has crazy wushu skills, and I've found that I like him better in his native tongue.

Well, yesterday just evaporated without my noticing. ^^; I'm *SO* glad it's Friday, and that's mainly because I'll get to sleep late tomorrow morning. Sleep has been elusive this week; Whenever I get into a nice, deep sleep, something wakes me up pretty much without fail.

I made a pretty awesome stir-fry last night, with a ginger, garlic, and green onion flavor base, plus a bit of low-sodium soy sauce. It was very tasty, but now my fingers stink of raw garlic and ginger, and no amount of hand-washing will get rid of it. Yep, doing great over here. :p I also had to peel the carrots with a knife, because I couldn't find the vegetable peeler, and it was a pain in the ass. I'm sure the pioneers got by just fine without these newfangled vegetable peelers, but me? Not so much.

Oh, and I cut my finger in the process, too. James has noted previously that I appear to be terribly uncomfortable with really big knives, and I have to agree. If I'm ever trying to attack you with a huge meat cleaver or a 10-inch knife, you can rest assured that I'm about as likely to take off one of my own limbs as I am to take off one of yours. (and yet, jianshu [straightsword] doesn't seem to bother me) What I really need is one of these friendly, medium-sized Santoku knives. Yeah, $108 is painful, but Alton Brown does know from good equipment.

God, it's almost September. When did that happen?

Okay, I realize that I've been known to partake in some slashy goodness every so often, but this is just weird. Real Person Slash easily makes the Very Wrong Things list. Well, okay, I'll make an exception for Luna Sea pairings, because they somehow seem less gratuitous, for some reason, but in general? NO THANK YOU.

Mother of mercy, today was long and slightly painful. :p I didn't leave the office until 8:45, no joke. I got pulled in on a project kind of at the last minute, and the folks involved with it were all staying late to work on it. I got free pizza out of the bargain, though, and it was really good vegetarian pizza, too, so that's pretty groovy.

So yeah, we obviously didn't go to see Stepford Wives. But we might go along with divadrummer to see Hero tomorrow, if James is also up for it. I hope I get to see *something* this weekend, whatever happens, because I've missed way too many interesting-looking movies in recent months.

Nuts, I just realized that I left the other half of my yummy Quizno's sub in the fridge at work!! It is a sad day, indeed. ;_;
