And then there were two

Today has been a Massive Upheaval sort of day. Eh, that probably makes it sound worse than it is, though, because it wasn't *all* bad. ^^; It has certainly been a day of change.
But first! I suppose I should rewind to where I left off, na?
Anyhoo, after my drive-by posting yesterday, I bopped on over to
chyee's house for a bit, because she was having an open house for her graduation. Somewhat surprisingly, I didn't know a single person in attendance, but it was still neat to visit with her for a bit, and to see how far she's come since her freshman year of high school. We've been such drive-by friends in recent years--school/work/life seem to have a way of tackling you and sucking away every spare fragment of time and energy you have--but I'm still proud. :)
I ducked out in time to make it over to the Excelsior at 7:30, and have graduation dinner with C and his entourage. It was a nice, lesiurely occasion and we had fun. It's always kind of interesting to know someone for years, and then be introduced to their family for the first time--it's never quite what you expect, and yet, at least a few things about the person start to make a lot of sense. :)
I spent the rest of my evening winding down, and part of it was spent writing a letter and crying my face off in the process. This is kind of why I don't get mushy in front of a lot of people--sometimes it's pretty easy for me to just completely lose it and start bawling.
And now, the gripe-y segmet of this post, because you know I can't go without one. ;p I stayed up late to do some laundry, because it needed to be done, and I figured that, at the time I started it, I could get it done and get a solid 6 hours of sleep. But, when I went downstairs to get the clothes out of the dryer, I arrived and found that someone came by, opened one of the dryer doors, and didn't close it again. The dryer timer keeps ticking whether the dryer is running or not, and the clothes inside it were cold and damp, so I had to put in another $0.75 and stay up another *HOUR* because of this random jackass. THANKS, GUY! :p
I only ended up getting about 4.5 hours of sleep, and woke up this morning feeling utterly miserable. Today was the wedding, so we had to roll out of here early, but by the time we got there, I was feeling okay. The ceremony was well put-together,
bookid had an awesome dress, and everyone looked very sharp. James' toast went over well, too, which was great, because all of us here in the building have been watching him stress out about it for the past week and a half. :) Tromping around a big grass field in heels was a bit trying, but that's the price I pay for having fashion sense. Hopefully the happy couple will have a fun trip!
Anyway, we had dinner, I took a nap and slogged through work, and now I'm back here. I called my dad this evening because I'm *retarded* and I don't have a calendar with holidays listed on it, and everyone has been talking about Father's Day as though it were today! But it's actually next week. I'm a genius. ::eyeroll:: But, they won't be at home next weekend, and I'd have missed him if I waited another week, so I suppose it's not all bad, na?
And damnit, I found a hole in this stupid meme:
( How to make a skeets )
That last step... 3 parts of WHAT? Maybe I should just fill it in myself. :)
