Random irritation: You know those slides they project on the screen before a given movie starts, and at least some of the slides involve some kind of movie trivia question or Identify This Quote challenge? Does it seem stupid to anyone else that they're challenging moviegoers to identify quotes from movies that haven't been released yet? I've seen quiz slides using a quote from the new Harry Potter, prior to every movie I've gone to over the past two months, at *least*.

So anyway, *I* thought the new Harry Potter was pretty cool. Yes, it was different than the first two, and yes, it was darker, but I thought it was well put-together. I feel like it's appropriate for the films to get a bit darker as they get further into the series and the kids grow older and less sheltered.

I like the new Dumbledore, too--which is *not* to say I didn't like the old. I read someone describing Harris' rendition versus Gambon's as "kindly old grandfather" versus "mischievous uncle," and that pretty much hits it on the head for me. And NO I haven't read the books, so I won't begin to speculate as to which version is more true to the story. They each did it differently, but *both* did it well.

As you can probably tell by my endless blather about moviegoing, that I got nothing else done today! I blame this on Puzzle Pirates (OMG Puzzle Pirates = crack!), and the fact that it was Sunday. And I did have to work this evening, so it's not as though I was a complete bum. :)

To Do List: bank, card, fax, freelance, wushu. Wow, that was even alphabetized. ::rotfl::
