MAYA! I saw your message the other day about y'all maybe being in Portland this summer! I MUST KNOW MORE!! ;_; But, you always seem to come online when I'm asleep or something, and vice-versa. (I'm sure that is primarily my fault because I sleep until early afternoon and work nights) I'll keep checking, and hopefully I'll catch you soon! Or, you can e-mail me, too. :)

Thank you to everyone who commented on my hair ealier! I love it so much, so it's good to hear that others like it too, because I'm a lamer who likes it when others validate her opinions. ^_-

I just realized that I unintentionally did the same thing with my before/after photos that they do in low-budget weight-loss and beauty product ads: shoot the Before photo with a frown and a slouch, and shoot the After photo with a smile and proud posture. Maybe it's my cunning marketing strategy that's winning you over! ::laughs::

So, I don't really have any Big McLargeHuge plans for Memorial Day weekend, but I have a few things going on to keep me busy. [livejournal.com profile] junsiew is on RA duty this weekend, so I'll probably bop on over and entertain her while she's confined to campus. :) Also, tomorrow night is [livejournal.com profile] bookid's bachelorette party, which I think is in Portland, and will also give me an excuse to wear that Lippy top I bought a month or so ago. The all-girl aspect could prove amusing, because I think I've grown very accustomed to always having boys around, in more recent years.

The computer repair is going okay. There are about eighty billion screws in the stupid thing, and the head on one of them was completely stripped, so I couldn't pry it out. James managed to engineer a solution with superglue, and extracted it for me, and everything after that has been pretty smooth. I successfully replaced the part, and now I just have to finish putting it back together, and see if it all works. I'm going to be so owned if I actually manage to pull off this repair myself.

And in closing, [livejournal.com profile] cmsunflash has temporarily damned me to mindless-game-playing hell by posting this link, so I will spread the fury: YOU PLAY NOW!

YAY

GUESS WHERE I'M POSTING FROM :D

Yes, I put the whole business back together, and it still works! ::rotfl:: The bad news is, the display still flickers to some degree. It has been doing the flickering a lot less, though, at least so far. :) It has already been worth the time investment.

And, now that I've really dug down into the guts of this machine, and know where everything is, I have far more valid theories on what other factors could be contributing to the problem, and I'd have an easier time opening this thing up the second time than I did on the first.

Anyway, I might open it up again this weekend, just to check on things. But for now, I sleep!
