Earlier this afternoon, the phone rang, and the following conversational snippet took place:
Me: [picks up phone] Hello?
Mother: Sarah?
Me: Hi--
Mother: What kind of condoms do you use?
That's the part where my brain says, "whozajiggaWHAA?"
Apparently, there was a sale on *condoms*, of all things, so she wanted to see if it was a good deal or not. With the intent of buying some for me. ::asldkfhasldkfhalkfhd:: She's always mailing me coupons and sending the occasional care package of something I use that she somehow managed to get for 90% off. But still, an odd question to start off a conversation.
I've been trying to figure out a great mystery, recently: Namely, who or what gave me a gift subscription to YM Magazine?? The gift card didn't say who this mysterious benefactor was, and they have yet to identify themselves, so I'm a bit boggled by this. It's not exactly the sort of magazine I would subscribe to myself, after all. But then again, there aren't many magazines that I'd subscribe to. I kind of liked having Entertainment Weekly, when I had it. ::shrug::
I've been trying to get the guy from Cafe Paradiso on the phone this afternoon, after he called me this morning. I sincerely hope that he got my message, because I kind of expected him to call back today. At least *somebody* got some good news on the job front, though: James will be working at Lunar Logic for the next couple of weeks, maybe even permanently, if all goes well. Whee!
Anyway, after turning in a job application, I treated myself to a bubble tea and a skein of yarn today. The former was red bean flavor, and darn tasty. The latter was that nifty purple Soft Boucle that I found at Ben Franklin a while back, only to realize later that I hadn't bought enough, and they were completely out of stock. They finally had some in the store today! They have a ton of it, too, so those who were admiring it ::cough
craftyranand
aleishacough:: might want to check it out. They have other colors in the same yarn type.
Anyhoo, I think I'm going to go and do something active. (wushu? probably) So, I'm off.
EDIT: Yeah, I added to this a little since I originally posted it.
