Unexpected things
Jan. 14th, 2001 05:08 amI didn't do anything that I originally expected to be doing this evening! But that's okay, because it was pretty good anyway. :D The Scavenger Hunt went well today; we had a nice turnout, some interesting moments, and a surprise appearance by Kris! He was like "I haven't seen you in like 2 years!" and so he carted me off to dinner with him and a few other Beavertonites, after I called Nikki and found out that our prior movie plans temporarily went bust.
We ended up going to the dollar theater and seeing Meet the Parents, which was a *very* painful film to watch at times. Oh MAN. x_x Ben Stiller is a funny guy and all, and the movie had some pretty funny moments, but seeing his character embarrass the living crap out of himself over and over and OVER again just made me starting cringing about 1/3rd of the way into the movie. It only really started getting funny in the last 20 minutes or so, when he started cracking, and freaked out at that stewardess and everything. I guess I can't really get behind a film that centers around a relatively nice guy with good intentions getting shit on repeatedly. ^^;
Anyhoo, after that we all hung around chatting for a while, and then figured out that there was nothing in the god forsaken town to entertain us, so I came home and spent the rest of the eve chatting with several different people. Now all I have to do is come online during the day when the rest of the world is online. :D
A quote that makes me think of a couple different people that I know: "When a true genius comes into the world, you may know him by his sign: All dunces in the world are in confederacy against him." --Jonathan Swift
And with that, I'm FINALLY hitting the bed. G'night!
