I think I may officially be Too Old For This Shit. The BarFly Bus was most certainly a good time, and it was so, so fantastic to hang out with circeramone, sarapada, triskelmoon, and the rest of the posse. But, OWWWW. Head hurts.

Serenading a friend on her birthday remains one of my favorite things. God bless karaoke.

Also: Bunk Sandwiches. Pork belly, cheddar, and apple. If you haven't already, look into it.

Big Damn Wedding Vendor Show today should be fun, and hopefully my laid-back, pint-clanking date afterwards will be equally so. Assuming I don't pass out face-first into my first (and likely only) pint of chocolate stout, that is.

I personally think Bunk sandwiches is highly overrated. That pork belly is super fatty. I'm also someone who likes my meat extremely lean. I prefer Kenny & Zukes as my sandwich place.

If it's hangovers that are your problem, I've never had one if I've downed a pint of water between every drink. It does mean twice as much liquid you have to get rid of later, though.

I gotta second Josh here. I've never understood how people can eat big pieces of pork belly.. but then, I prefer lean meat, and I like my bacon crispy. And while the sandwiches at Bunk are pretty good, to me it stands as another example of how the food in Portland just isn't what it ought to be in a city that's full of foodies and within fifty miles of a wide variety of agriculture. The reason Bunk gets such rave reviews isn't because their food is amazing; it's because hardly anyone else bothers to make amazing sandwiches when all it takes to make an amazing sandwich is quality ingredients, some basic culinary know-how, and the willingness to give a damn, and that's sad.

Also, seconding bodhranist's hangover-prevention method. If you don't want to switch between booze and water, at least make sure you down a couple of big glasses of water before the end of the night.

Eh, it's more the "magical beer sleep" that prevents me from sleeping more than 5 hours after a night of heavy drinking. I didn't have a hangover, I was just exhausted!
