Behold! It's time to start talking about the once-in-a-lifetime:

SKEETS TURNS 30 PARTY!!!!11

Details are forthcoming, but I would like to claim Saturday, April 24th** for this shindig. This is really far-in-advance notice, so please make some time to stop by, even if it's not very long.

** I know there are other birthdays near mine, so I'm open to having a joint-birthday celebration. I'd rather do that than force our mutual friends to split up their time or choose one or the other. But, darn it all, I'm turning 30, so I want to make sure that SOME type of awesome gathering occurs.

Things I am looking for here:
1) Theme suggestions
2) Possible assistance with planning
3) Profit.

I welcome your thoughts! If YOU are having a good time, too, that'll make my birthday even happier. :D

You could do what I did for my 50th, which is get really drunk, grope a lot of women you barely know, and then spend the rest of the evening in a blackout state. I don't recommend it, though.

Oh, who am I kidding. I had a fucking BLAST. :)

WOOOOO!

Also, 4/24 is Lacey's birthday :D

You know I am always down to help with planning or anything else.

As for theme, hmmm. Since you're turning 30, you could do a 1930s theme perhaps?

That's my birthday weekend, and also Stumptown Comics Fest. But birthday shenanigans are important.

I would totally love to go, but due to college, work and scion, I have no idea if I'll have the time for it. It is on my calendar though!

I remembered that Lacey's was right near mine! :D

Maybe I should start a planning thread in Google Wave! Because that's the one thing it's actually good for!

I can barely believe it myself, sometimes. But yeah, April 27th, 1980! As I told one of the moms at the wushu school the other day, "I moisturize a lot." ;)

Ha! From what I've heard, that party was pretty legendary. ;)

It wouldn't be until evening, so hopefully it won't get too much in the way of any required comic book nerding. :)

Also, I expect to be pestering you about cupcakes for this! I just need to dream up my recipe-of-choice...

Oh, oh! My friend Daisy had a brilllliant theme for her 30th - she did a Double Quincenera. Everyone wore poofy prom-like dresses and she just had quince stuff (in duplicate, of course) everywhere.

I thin you should just make it birth year themed for this, your 30th.

Jimmy Carter
Empire Strikes Back
Who shot JR?

Man. I'm still liking the idea of a "Sock Hop" because it could be epic fun, but I'm also pretty entranced by "Old Hollywood".

I'm almost afraid to mention this one because I think you might pick it, But you could have a "Nerd Day" Birthday. Just people showing off their nerdery/geektasticness. ;P

"Who shot JR?" is a much better theme from "I just woke up from a dream that Bobby was killed a year ago but now he's alive and getting out of the shower."

I'll just have to pencil that in on my calendar, then.

I have so wanted to be able to say something like this - I should be in PDX permanently by then, and would love to partake in birthday shenanigans. :)

Not more useful than email for <4 people, but for more, it seems pretty good.

And there are alternative uses. Like when my friend and his wife were on vacation and I was housesitting/dogsitting. I kept a log in Gwave that they could check and comment in whenever they wanted. And ONLY when they wanted.

It's on the calendar. I missed Bruce's 40th, and that was lame of me. I'll have to make yours.
