Any PDX people want to go to the Chinese Garden this weekend? I hear there's free admission, and I've never been. I'm thinking Saturday afternoon, perhaps?

You can also assume that I will have my camera glued to my face for at least part of the outing, if that affects your decision at all. ;)

I would like to go. Sunday both Adam and I could come, Saturday just me.

Sunday might also be an option if Boy shoots the wedding we have booked. We haven't talked about it yet, though.

Either way. Let me know what you decide. I've always wanted to check it out and have never been. Adam probably wouldn't care either way.

There's a Chinese garden too? I've only ever been to the Japanese Gardens.

I've been, but I wouldn't mind going again.

I have both a tea tasting/outing and Shad's B-day party on Saturday. If you're seriously considering Sunday, I would join. Let me know? *hugs*

It's looking more like Saturday :/ I kind of want to shoot the wedding, assuming I'm not still sick.

Thinking Saturday afternoon, sometime after 2pm, if that works? :D

Same here! I've known about the Chinese Garden since I moved up here, but haven't been yet. (it's smaller than the Japanese Garden)

Well, I've visited it a few times before and would love to go again, but I'll probably have to catch it some other time. Overcommitment. :(

It's lots more fun with friends, so I hope you have a good time! *hugs*

If you ever want to go when it's not going to be a crazy busy free weekend, let me know. I have a membership and can bring in a guest with me. Be careful with the photography stuff - similar to the Japanese Garden, the Lan Su Garden retains copyright on an pictures taken in the garden.

Let me know when you pick a time so I can plan. Could my friend Michelle come?

Sure, if she wants to :) MK is also coming and bringing Joey! Saturday after 2pm is the current plan!

Yeh, I hear you on the overcommitment bit, sigh. Still, I hope you have fun on Saturday with all your goings-on! ::co-hugs::

That would be rad! It might be nice to go again when it's warmer and less gloomy outside.

And yeah, I'd heard about the annoying copyright stuff, so that's a bummer. Still, I enjoyed shooting at the Japanese Garden years ago, even though I didn't use the shots for anything, so it's worth doing for that, at least. :)

It's amazing once everything starts blooming in the spring - I have quite a few pictures I've taken there over the past year. And yes - while the copyright thing is annoying, it is still a really fun place to take shots. Honestly, once I started taking more pictures there, I came to appreciate the copyright rule: the thought and effort that must go into providing such perfect models for photography certainly deserves some level of acknowledgment in any shots that are taken, you know?

I can't go on Saturday, sadly, but I'd like to get together sometime soon to go over stuff-stuff. I know you're busy and overscheduled, so maybe we can do a lunch thing sometime? :)

I was thinking of going, cause I've never been either, but apparently the weather is going to be cold and rainy, which is not particularly good weather for checking out a garden.

Lunch would be awesome! But I'm actually pretty open next week, too, if that works better. :) I was thinking about hitting up Science Pub at the Bagdad on Monday, maybe... but I'm flexible!

OMG! I hadn't heard of that before, so I looked it up, and it sounds like the best thing ever!! I've been trying to find stuff like that to do in Portland. Now I'm angry that I already made plans to go do laundry at my sister's. :(

As for lunch, any day after Wednesday would work for me. :)

Heh, well, you didn't miss much this time around; the lecture turned out to be boring. :/ I hear they're generally fun/interesting, though, so I might try again next time around.

For lunchness... Thursday? Anywhere downtown that you'd like to go?
