I got a free Moonstruck mocha today! Nomnom. They have hot chocolate, too, and I think they're giving them away all day. Just be prepared to wait a bit. :)

Went to a low-key evening at [livejournal.com profile] marykae's on Saturday, and we basically just kicked it, played an epic-length game of Apples to Apples, and watched Dr. Horrible. It was really nice. Also, Joey is a cool kid.

I got to see [livejournal.com profile] virgoqueen7 yesterday, when she came to get her print! So good to chat with her. We need to get together for real sometime soon... and Sequoia is still cute as all-get-out, of course. ;)

I like that my friends who are parents have cool, intelligent kids, who are not irritating like a lot of other peoples' kids are. <3 It gives me hope for the future, heh.

Nina also came over yesterday and measured me for my Halloween costume... I am nervous and giddy with excitement! I am also back to eating well and training my ass off, in order to get as superhero-looking as possible. I also have a secret weapon that will help me looked extra-ripped when Halloween Night rolls around. Really, it's just a 7-day no-carb, low-sodium eating plan to temporarily get rid of extra water weight, so no huge secret, I suppose. But, I'm curious to see the results.

Of course, right after getting measured, we all went to Hoda's and I gorged myself on middle eastern food, hahaha. XD The service was really slow, considering it wasn't that busy there, and all Nina and Patrick ordered was hummus and babaganoush, but at least it was tasty.

Speaking of training, I'm thinking about mmmmmaybe doing a tournament in early November. It's a small one, in BC, and a couple of our homies at UW are trying to get a UO contingent to go. Assuming that my knee continues on the upward trend, it'd be awesome to go. Competing only once a year doesn't really give me the opportunity to get used to how terrifying it can be, especially when that one time a year is at probably THE largest wushu tournament in the country.

Also, I could try on my scary southern broadsword form, without getting freaked out that somebody will come in with a bunch of nandu jumps and destroy me. That's a plus. I frickin' hate nandu, especially since most nandu for southern styles are tornado kicks, which can torque the hell out of my bad knee if I'm not careful.

And speaking of nandu, apparently David and Goo are challenging each other to see who can land a 720 tornado kick first, hahaha! XD Knowing them, I'll be surprised if either of them hit it, but I hope at least *one* of them does. And I shouldn't talk crap anyway, since I can't even hit 540. ;p

Oh, and I also finally conquered Joomla theming! Half the problem was that I didn't have access to everything I needed... you'd think that Administrator access would give you all that you need, but apparently, there's some Super-Admin level above that. ::eyeroll:: After I actually had everything I needed in front of me, it wasn't so hard, heh. :) The new site is coming along pretty excellently!

Anyhoo, I think I'm going to stop babbling and get some things done. Boy will be slammed with IT consulting work for the next week or two, so I have emails to send and phone calls to make in his stead...
