And the boys
Jun. 18th, 2009 01:53 pmYou may have already seen this via Facebook, but I took this shot on Monday. Men's fashion, oh noes! I always feel a little weird about shooting with guys, because I'm afraid of posing them too girly, and I was knockdown, drag-out tired that afternoon, but fortunately, this guy knows what he's doing pretty well. :)

After the shoot, I came home, and our newest roommate (he's been here for a couple of weeks) and I did the whole, "hey, how's it going," bit, and I said, "yeah, not much, I was just out rolling around in the grass with a male model." XD
But seriously, I wanted to get down really low for a series of shots, including the one above, and when I got up, the back of my sweater was *completely* covered in dead grass. And it's a fuzzy sweater, so I spent the entire ride back from the location picking dead grass off of myself. Good times, haha.
I also shot with a plus-size model last night, and she was really energetic and smiley! And, apparently, her cousin goes to my wushu school. He's 13 and recently tested for his black belt, and I think he's the only wushu student, other than me, who actually competes in wushu. He has clean technique and a smaller build, and *plenty* of years ahead of him to develop his skills, the lucky bastard. He's basically the direct opposite of me: I'm more about power than precision, I'm taller and more muscular, and I'm over-the-hill for most athletic pursuits. He's way more predisposed to changquan styles than I am.
The instructors know it, too: they spend a lot of time on him after class, and I'm not sure if his parents are paying for private lessons or not, but either way, they put a lot of energy into him. Sigh. I envy that kid, sometimes.
I'm meeting with a florist tonight to talk about some ideas... I wish I hadn't loaded down my week quite this much, but I'm looking forward to finally chatting with this lady, and I really like her work. So, I'll deal. :)
4 More Days. HOLY CRAP, you guys.
