I made this--with a heap of veggies on the side--for dinner last night, and although it was not the most ooey-gooey-cheesy I've ever had, it was pretty tasty! I give you: my ~300-calorie vegetarian quesadilla! My only complaint is that I didn't quite dig the flavor of particular brand of fake meat that I used, but I figure that's easily remedied by choosing the fake meat of your preference. :)
In other news, the high-belt teenagers at wushu have recently gotten on the ankle weights bandwagon, and have started wearing them during practice. I've been down that road before, so I've owned my own set of 2 lb. ankle weights for a while, but after Phil chewed out Byron and I for wearing them during jumps several years ago--because, derr, it's bad for your joints--I stopped using them, and they've been dutifully jammed at the bottom of my weapons bag ever since.
Thanks to the damned kids in my current class, I busted them out at class last night, wearing them for basics and then taking them off before jumps. And, uuuugggh, two pounds makes quite a difference, especially after blasting the hell out of your core with circuit training earlier in the day. But, it is SO cool once you take them off, and find yourself feeling super-speedy!
Here's a shot from the first shoot last Sunday. I started off the shoot by aiming to go more smiley-commercial, since that's what the industry typically asks of plus-size models. I think I may have landed more towards portrait than fashion, but it does make *her* look good, and a model portfolio shoot is more about flattering the model than the clothes. So, maybe it's okay. :)
