Yesterday turned out really nice!
--Got a super-relaxing hour-long facial at Aveda for $15, because I'm on their mailing list. (I did my research, and that is cheap)
--Did a bunch of rhythm boxing on WiiFit, and weight is still continuing on its slow, downward pace.
--Met up with Amy later in the evening for a tea and a chat, and now I feel 100 times better about things that have been nagging me lately. <3 <3 <3 to her, even though she's not reading this.
--Processed another bridal session photo and OMG I LOOOOVE EEEET. I don't know how I'm going to decide which of them should go in the portfolio.
And now, this meme, part deux (
virgoqueen7 gave me these):
Photographer - Yes, I'm a photographer. How did that happen? It began when Boy,
dnelson, and I were living in Eugene, and we all realized our shared interest in photography, so we decided to get together semi-regularly and experiment with it. We got sick of our point-and-shoots, so then we all got DSLRs. Then, somewhere along the way, we realized that, hey, we're not bad at this stuff, and there are people with worse photography skills than ours, making money with their photography. So, we decided to try getting some paid gigs.
Now it's 3 years later, Boy and I are in business here in Portland, and
dnelson has decided that photography makes a better hobby than a job, for him. I wound up doing a lot of fashion, because my job has been boring and creatively unfulfilling, so planning conceptual fashion shoots was an easy outlet for the creative juices. I'm happy taking ALL kinds of photos, though, so I'm not limiting myself to a particular specialty or genre just yet. I'd be pretty pumped to do editorial work more regularly, but I could just as easily be fine with making the dolla' bills via weddings and portraiture. (which is where a lot of it has come from, thus far)
Fashionista - HAHAHA. I find it vaguely amusing that I'm suddenly "the fashionable one." ;) See previous response re: Fashion(able).
Ass Kicking Expert - Heh, well, everyone thinks I can destroy them in a fight, because I know wushu. This is amusing, because I practice Taolu, which is basically forms and performance, whereas the area of wushu where people actually fight each other is Sanshou. It's rare to find someone who competes in both Taolu *and* Sanshou, because people tend to specialize. That means I've been doing wushu for over 5 years, but I only learned two-man sparring about 6 months ago. And even that was a choreographed sparring set. ;p
My current school *is* better about showing the applications of certain moves, though, so I might know what to do with them if I ever got in a bind... we got basically none of that type of instruction at UO, because there just wasn't enough time or knowledge base among us.
ACDC Karaoke - I think AC/DC *is* my current favorite band to karaoke, heh! It was incredibly intimidating at first, because I figured it'd be really hard to pull off, but it is somewhat easier than you'd expect. Anybody who's not a complete lamer likes hearing AC/DC at karaoke, so you already have the crowd in your corner, and all you have to do is stay on pitch and get into the groove. :) I still won't do Hell's Bells, though, because that is a *lot* of high-pitched screaming. ^^;
HIRO - See usericon. ;) He was, far and away, my favorite Heroes character, and when the episodes started dragging, he was often the only reason I kept watching. I have a weakness for cute (as in Adorable, rather than Hot), earnest Japanese guys, apparently. He is kind of bumming me out in the current season, though, and I wish they'd give him his powers back already.
