Gothy dance party night was fun! I did have to fight with myself for a while about going, though. (I do that with party-type things quite frequently, actually) At first, I was totally into the idea, and thought it'd be fun to dress up and flail around madly! But, then I remembered that A) I can't squeeze into the precious few goth clothing items I still have, and B) most goths are not as cool as
aniline or
ghost_girl. ;p Then again, most people aren't as cool as them, heh.
It was, ultimately, worth dragging myself out there, though. We had a good bit of yell-over-the-music chatter, and hugginess, and of course the flailing around that I call dancing, and OMG goodgoodgood. My mood was hugely better afterwards, so this was, apparently, exactly what I needed. Much <3 to
katlyn for just being you. That alone was enough to make me push past my ongoing blue funk, so I could come out and enjoy this experience. :)
And then, much to my incredible shock, I actually had a GOOD wushu practice on Saturday. I completely expected it to hurt like hell, because, well, all my wushu practices have been crap, as of late. I already hadn't been performing well, and there was also the fact that, A) I'd had two rum-and-cokes the night before, and B) I'd danced enough to make my knee hurt. But, somehow, I had energy and could actually almost jump like normal. SO HAPPY. I'm still keeping my expectations low for Berkeley--my stamina is still crap, after all--but at least I might be able to start enjoying practice again.
Anyhoo, I somehow managed to completely waste my afternoon yesterday. XD Waking up at 1:45 in the afternoon didn't exactly leave a lot of afternoon *to* waste, but I did meet up with Serafin for dinner and a chat later in the day. I'm not sure that we really solved any of the recent issues he's been dealing with, but he seemed to feel better afterwards, at least. I'm still incredibly weary of house drama, and I don't feel that I can do very much about it, because you can't exactly force other people to pull their heads out of their asses. But, if taking 90 minutes out of my day and just listening for a while helps the overall mood of things even a little, then it's a worthy cause.
And THEN, I gave him a ride to his car, which had apparently gotten a flat tire the night before. And he'd slept in his car that night, because he thought I was too busy (!) to help him out, and he couldn't find anyone else who could help on a Saturday night. Granted, I wouldn't have been much help, either, since I lack tire-changing tools, but I could've at least given him a ride home, so he could sleep in a BED. I was even in that part of town! Silly monkey. :p
Anyhoo, we spent about an hour and a half trying various things to fix the tire. We tried a can of Fix-A-Flat, but the leak was too big for that to work. So, we basically texted and called people to try and find someone who had a jack and a proper tool to get the lug nuts off, so we could put on the spare. Somebody finally came to our rescue, and I followed his car back to the house, to make sure we got back in one piece.
So, yeah, I've barely been at home for the past few days, but I can't say I mind it much. Things are looking pretty shiny, for a Monday, so I will count that as a blessing. :)
P.S.
thefulcrum is neat and is also responsible for my new LJ theme.
