Being a lady is rough.

batskeetsSo this lady came to the house a couple of days ago, to bring me a magazine that the mailman had left in her mailbox by mistake. I don't subscribe to any magazines, so I don't know why they've suddenly started sending me a magazine that I didn't ask for.
This isn't the first time I've gotten a mystery subscription like this. Thing is, the last time this happened, they mailed me a year's subscription to some teen fashion magazine that I didn't want or particularly like.
This time? It's WOMAN'S DAY. Apparently, 28 is no longer considered young-and-fun enough for fashion rags! XD
The sad thing is, these "women's magazines" are even more boring than the teen magazines of my high school years! All they really talk about is how to lose weight, take care of your kids, keep your house organized, and do all of these things while looking Stepford-fabulous. At least teen magazines will occasionally talk about a band or a movie that doesn't completely suck. :p
Is it any wonder why women end up feeling horrible about themselves? Blecch.

Date: 2008-07-03 06:45 pm (UTC)When I was in college I got mysteriously subscribed to VIBE magazine and it came to me for FIVE YEARS through several moves (at least 4) and still to this day I have no idea how or why. I think it must have been a friend playing a prank on me because even when I moved in with my grandparents for a short while (and didn't forward my mail) VIBE came. It was pretty amusing to see my little catholic grandma open up the magazine.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
