Man, I forgot how rough it can be to bike everywhere. I did my normal work commute--which I haven't been doing regularly, b/c I've been short on time and the MAX is faster--yesterday, and then I tacked on an additional 6 miles around the lunch hour, so that made for a total of 15 miles.
If you hadn't already guessed, my legs are pretty sore, and with the ass-kicking lifting and acro sessions on Monday, my upper body's all sore, too. This is, theoretically, supposed to get easier, right? ;p
Okay, so I'm sort of being a whiner. See, the extra bits of working out *are* actually paying off, and I know this because I did a bridge kickover at acro. My legs were on a step, so it wasn't level, but I'd never done it at all without using the wall or having a spotter help push me over. But now, I've finally done one unassisted, so w00t!
Also, the extra biking yesterday was totally worth it, because I got $10 off a haircut from a really sweet girl I met at fashion week. My annoying in-between-stage hair is much improved (I heart razor cuts), and it was great seeing her again. She's also one of those people who makes a haircut feel like a really fun voyage of discovery or something, and I kind of loved that.
There's no wushu this week due to the 4th of July holiday, and that makes me a sad panda. But, I think I might teach Serafin some wushu soon, so that could help make up for it! If anyone else happens to be interested in trying it, too, you are more than welcome to join us. :) (and don't shy away just because you don't think you're in good enough shape... I certainly wasn't when I started training!)
Oh yeah, and I'm trying a Nia class tonight. I have little-to-no idea what it is, but I have a coupon for 2 weeks free, so hopefully it won't be a complete waste of time. ;)
