batskeetsOy, busy weekend. It's my own darned fault for scheduling two Nerd shoots, and then also shooting the post-remodeling grand opening performance at my wushu school, but it was all worth doing. More about that stuff once I have pictures to share!
We had some fun times on Saturday, and after having some chow at Nathan's house, we wound up going to a few different places, and encountering some amusingly inebriated stragglers from SantaCon along the way. I also witnessed one of them humping the Portland Streetcar, while we were driving over to Nathan's. I wouldn't laugh so much if it were anything else, but that blasted Streetcar has made me late to wushu too many times due to its inability to show up on schedule, and thusly totally deserved some "special treatment" from Santa. XD
There was also this gravely-voiced old dude at the first place we went, who wanted to play pool with us. I already can't hear a damned thing at most bars, because I'm awful and picking individual voices out of crowds, but NONE of us could understand this guy. He seemed nice enough, but dude was completely unintelligible in that environment. Too bad, because he probably could've given us some good pool tips, too.
On another note, the construction that's been happening near my office building is EFFING OBNOXIOUS. I can normally tune noises pretty well, but the loud, repetitive clanging is enough to give me a headache. I didn't complain, though, because I figured, eh, it'll be over in a few days, right? WRONG.
We all got an e-mail forwarded from our org's facilities manager, which included the following comment from the property owner's assistant: "...its loud, obnoxious and hard to work, but there is nothing anyone can do, basically everyone just needs to figure what they can do to make themselves more comfortable for the next 2 years during building." (emphasis mine)
TWO YEARS of this BANG BANG BANG all day long? Everyone in this building is going to flip out and kill the whole town by then!
