I got a blast from the past on several levels last night! For one, I got to see Nikki and [livejournal.com profile] spiralshannon after many moons of not seeing them! (i.e. pretty much since they left Eugene) Also, this occurred because we went to the Tori Amos show at the Schnitzer, and not only had I not seen Tori in concert since halfway through college, but I also haven't bought an album of hers in at least 5 years. That's after being a rabid fangirl for several years and owning all her albums from 2001 and prior.

We went to dinner at Todai, which was yummy. The food was okay, and there was plenty to choose from, it being a buffet and all. They totally win on the dessert front, too: everything was presented in tiny, cute little bite-sized pieces, so you can sample lots of things without stuffing yourself to death. LOVE.

Unfortunately, it was also holy-crap-expensive! My first reaction upon seeing the check? "Dang, I should have eaten more!" Buffets always seem to charge way more than they should for the quality of food, simply because it's "all you can eat." Well, y'all can charge me all you want, but it still won't allow me to fit more food into my stomach. :p I definitely won't be going there often, and probably only for lunch, because that knocks a good $10 off the price. Still, it was fun to do once, anyway.

The show itself was rad, of course. :D I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't know many of the songs, because she's put out a few albums since I last checked in with her. Tori delivered, though, and happily mixed in a lot of older tunes from the albums I did know. She seemed more into the presence and showmanship aspect than I remembered--three words: Pink. Sequined. Jumpsuit. XD--but she did it her own way, of course. The whole set was really good, I got chills a couple times, and just, gah! Bitch can PLAY.

And now, here I am, back at the office. Talk about a downer, heh. ;)
