Before I go into a long string of yapping: This may be the most terrifying mainstream magazine cover I've seen in a very long time. Her face looks vaguely evil, and her head looks wildly unnatural the way it's positioned. It's some horrific combination of poor composition/posing for the lighting, and bad Photoshopping.
Ian got Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii sometime last week, and I'm certainly not complaining! My experience with Guitar Hero is limited, but I'm such a sucker for music-based games that I can't *not* have fun with it. The new battle mode is weird, though, I have to say, and it's not particularly easy to figure out at first, either. Also: butt rock FTW! I know not everyone will enjoy the song selection, but I'm totally down with it. There are some awesome songs in there. :D
In a similar vein, we got the opportunity to try out Rock Band a few weeks ago, when a traveling demo of the game was parked outside the Bagdad. It was fun, after the guitar guys who were playing along with me stopped failing the song over and over, heh. I'm grumpy that they're only offering it for XBox 360 and PS3, because I have zero interest in having either of those consoles. :p
In other news, I did some acting for a documentary and got paid for it. (well, the check hasn't come yet, but it will soon) It was super-easy: they needed a location, so they wound up coming to the house to film it, so I got to hang out in my own house during scene changes. Otherwise, it was just acting through a non-verbal role as a person who goes on a diet and succeeds at it. It was different in a nice way, and I'm certainly considering picking up the occasional gig like this for a bit of extra scratch in the future.
Oh yeah, we also started watching Rome (as in, the HBO series) a few days ago, and it's rather addictive. There are only two seasons, so at the rate we're going, we'll run out of episodes pretty fast, heh.
I can't believe my trip is tomorrow. Jeezy creezy, that came up fast. The tournament is going to be interesting.
Oh yeah, and I actually landed a standing outside 360 with a one-legged landing yesterday! Without hopping! I attempted it twice, and stuck the landing twice! It kind of figures that I'd land it *after* opting out of the event that I'd actually need it for, but eh, I'll just have more time to make it better for Berkeley.
That's all!

Date: 2007-11-08 01:22 am (UTC)I dislike the game, but it's still Guitar Hero, which is better than 90 percent of the video games out there.
Oh, and I'm a video game snob.
