"...it's about pie."
Aug. 27th, 2007 10:47 amSo, hey, thanks to everyone who came to the party on Saturday! It wasn't huge, but it was much fun and so good to meet/see y'all! Happy! :D I got a lot more "maybes" and people who couldn't make it than on the original date, so I kind of thought that nobody would show up, but it was actually at a nice level... not too huge or crazy, and everyone getting along well. :) I made way too much food, but it all came out smashingly, so it was worth it.
Once all the dust settles from roommates moving in and out, a house party may be in the works, especially seeing as so many people had scheduling conflicts with this one.
Speaking of, if you came to the shindig and I don't have your e-mail address, pass it on, so I can give you a proper invite next go-round. You know, as opposed to the far-easier-to-miss "yelling on LJ" method. ;)
Also, speaking of food, I now have a food blog: The Girl Who Ate Portland! I was kind of testing the waters, to see if I could do regular blogging by reviewing food establishments, but I think I'm going to fold the restaurant/bar reviews into a more generalized food blog. So, there'll be reviews, recipes, experiments, and so on... and I won't have to foist ridiculously long posts about vegan baking upon my unsuspecting LJ readers, heh.
Yes, I'm aware it's still ugly; I'm going to fix that as soon as I find some time. :)
(EDIT: it's syndicated on LJ as girlateportland. Apparently, "girlwhoateportland" was too long. WTF? ;p)
We did a fashion shoot yesterday, and I think we got some excellent shots. The makeup kind of took forever, but the end result was very much what I had in mind. The location worked out fantastic... it had some of the most photogenic grass I think I've ever laid eyes on, as silly as that probably sounds. XD I'm also pretty sure there aren't many photographers who are aware of it, so it can be our ubersecret, bwahaha.
Anyhoo, that's all for now. :)
