batskeetsIt makes me sad when I realize how often I'll be biking home from work, and pass by a dead animal that's been flung into the bike lane by some passing car. Squirrels, birds, creatures that have been run over so many times they've basically been reduced to a flattened bundle of fur. Poor little guys. :(

Sometimes, if there aren't a lot of cars around, and you listen closely, you can hear the hissing of the rails before you can see the MAX train coming towards you.

I've seen a fairly short guy, standing outside of The Alibi, on my way home for several days over the past week or so. He wears a sandwich board asking people not to go there, due to a discrimination-related dispute that he's having with them. I kind of wonder what the story is. He looked like he might be Hispanic, so I suspect it's race-related... needless to say, dude did not look happy.

In other news, do you think you've got a good theory on global warming? Maybe one of you more scientifically-minded people can prove it and win $100,000.
I lucked out on Craigslist yesterday, and got a lead on a *really* cheap digital piano! It's only 76 keys, unfortunately, but the keys are fully-weighted, it has MIDI outputs, and for that price, I think I can stand to give up the 12 extra keys until I get rich and can buy a fancier rig. ;)
If you couldn't tell, I'm really bloody excited! I tried playing on the keyboard at Ben's parents' house when we were down in Eugene, and I'm definitely getting rusty... I think it was more an issue of just not remembering the songs, but it made me want to play more and get some of that knowledge back. Here's to hoping.
Anyhoo, I'm tired. There's a networking event tonight that we may be going to, but I may not want to go, if I keep feeling so wiped out for the rest of the day. Blaaahhh. :p
Oh yeah, and BOO-URNS to this crappy weather. It's still August, where's my sun??
