I wrote a blog on Web 2.0 design trends, because I've poked around too many design portfolios lately, and the ones that weren't ridiculous and antiquated? They were chock full of plastic buttons and gradients. Seriously, enough already!

Last night, I got a chance to play with Coda--a "one window web development" app, as they describe it--and so far, it's *very* nice. It has syntax highlighting and tag completion, it lets you manage your projects, it'll track your changes and post them easily, and there's even a Terminal built in. Ben also e-mailed the devs working on it, and they wrote back: apparently, they're also working on adding Subversion capabilities, even though you can already control that through the Terminal!

If you're a web monkey and have a Mac at your disposal, it'd be worth your while to give this a test drive. The only bummer? There's only a 30-day free trial. But, it's also not ludicrously expensive, so you might actually be able to buy it without surrendering your firstborn. :D Woohoo!

In other important news, the organizers of the Iowa debates are excluding Ron Paul from the debate in June. Write to them and tell them to include him! He's the only Republican candidate who dares to oppose the war in Iraq, so give the guy a hand. You can also give it a Digg.

I am freezing my butt off in this office, but somebody from building services is supposed to come up here and fix that. I literally have gooseflesh right now, because I didn't bring a coat or a sweater today. It's summer, who would think to wear a coat?

Tonight is some schamncy-fancy dinner party for work, because it's their 41st anniversary. My boss is in Ecuador, and I'm not sure if anyone else I know at work is going, and I kind of want to go to a 7:30 yoga class... so, yeah, it may just be an eat-and-run situation for me, heh. The dinner sounds really good, though, so hopefully we'll have at least a little bit of fun. :)

Also, buffalo meat tacos are fabulous. The end.

Hey you, speaking of job-related stuff... are you still at the same email you were when you did the candle thing? My mom's been trying to get hold of you, says she hasn't heard back, so I didn't know if your email had changed or if you're just busy up the wazoo or are trying to figure out how to tell her you don't want to work on the candle site. :) Let me know if it's option c and I'll try to work something out with her!

Also, next time I'm in Portland, we should do something! I dunno when it'll be, but maybe we can meet up for lunch or coffee?

Oh, gosh, that was long enough ago that I don't remember what address she'd have. It's probably an old one, or maybe it got caught by a spam filter. Have her try information at mokuzen dot net; I'll definitely see it there.

And yeah, let me know when you'll be up this way! I still have 80 hojillion restaurants I want to try. ;)
