So! I'm currently piggybacking on wireless again. It has been a nutty few days, so here's what comes to mind:

Friday: Party was cool. Many thanks to everyone who came!! :D I was pumped to see you guys.

Saturday: We got everything loaded up, and I was on-track to arrive while it was light outside... until I was about 5 miles out of Portland, and traffic completely STOPPED. A semi truck had flipped on its side and I-5 was completely blocked off. They eventually diverted everyone to a freeway exit and we all crawled through town to get around the accident. That cost me over 1.5 hours, and by the time I got to my new home, it was dark outside. :p

Amy and Travis had only moved up here last week, but their place was set up enough that they offered me their couch to sleep on, instead of unloading the truck in the dark. They had a couple other friends visiting, so we went to the Sandy Hut, which was kind of dive-y, and where *everyone* was dressed in all-black. I was wearing jeans and my dark green UO Wushu shirt, and I felt like some kind of tie-dyed hippie by comparison, heh.

Sunday: Had a nice breakfast at the Bread and Ink, and then [livejournal.com profile] nick2310, Amy, and Travis helped unload stuff! They Officially Rock. :D I also went over to our awesome office space and unloaded what was left. I'm excited about the office, seriously! Returned the moving truck, biked home, and then unpacked non-stop until I got tired and went to sleep.

Monday: I SLEPT IN. I hadn't really slept much/well for a while, so I needed that. And of course, Yet More Unpacking. Yeah, I know, not exciting. The house we're in is cool, though, and there's a metric buttload of storage. I got sick of that in the mid-afternoon, so I biked around looking for coffee, a phone book, and an internet cafe. Only succeeded in finding the coffee and the phone book. I'd thought about stopping by the wushu school, too, but their physical address wasn't in the phone book. WTF? :p After that, some reading, and more unpacking. Ben finally rolled in from Eugene after 1am, after a long, long day of cleaning out the old house.

Yesterday: Set up the office space some, and then went off to an interview! I got lost getting out of Portland, but I eventually got out to Hillsboro to meet with them, and they were relaxed and groovy folks, and the job sounded a bit better than I previously thought, so I'm definitely interested, at least. We did a lot of unpacking and organizing things, and finally decided to settle in and watch The Good Shepherd. I'm not sure if I *liked* the movie or not, but it wasn't *bad*, at least.

Today: Another interview, for a job that I'm actually really excited about! I'm supposed to do a second interview on Friday, so w00t. Oh, and we FINALLY GOT FOOD. Okay, so I'd gotten a little bit of food before today, but it was bare-minimum stuff because I didn't want to haul it all home on my bike. :p NOW, I can actually cook. We wanted to bike around and explore some, but the sky keeps barfing out rain at random intervals.

Anyhoo, I'm really excited, and also really scatterbrained, and oddly tired, but hopefully it'll pass. :) I like the house, the backyard is ginormous, there are two hilarious cats in the house, and things are coming together slowly but surely. We'll call QWest tomorrow about the whole internet situation, so maybe next time I'll post from my own darned computer. ;)

I'm looking forward to a break! Hopefully we'll get out and do something fun in the next day or two. Maybe we'll actually figure out WTF is around that's any good, in terms of eateries, hangouts, bars, and what-have-you. (suggestions and company welcome!)
