not really a drive-by
Apr. 12th, 2007 04:23 pmBleh, the weather is miserable today! And my whole body hurts, aaaagh. That said, I still hope it clears up enough that I can go running later...
Tuesday wound up busier than I thought, but in that good way. :) Ben and I went on a bike ride all over town, and attempted P.F. Chang's for dinner, but we decided to skip the hour-and-a-half wait and went to Mucho Gusto instead. I'm told that P.F. Chang's is pretty good food-wise, but it looks like a haven for yuppies, *and* it's a chain restaurant, so I have to wonder if it's truth or hype. Mucho Gusto was pretty good, though!
Anyhoo, Andy made a second go at his stand-up routine, this time at a different venue, and it was already a lot better. Considering that he did pretty well already on his first go-round, I suspect he'll get really good very fast, at the rate he's going. :)
After that, Michael's soon-to-be-roommate invited us to Taylor's for karaoke, so we went over there to check things out. And, in case I haven't mentioned it before: Taylor's = EW. Frat dudes glued to whatever sports event is on the bar's TV, college chicks ho-ing it up in too-tight 80's throwbacks, said people taking drunken point-and-shoot pictures of themselves... and may I just say, I *really* don't understand the latter of those things. You're sweaty, you're drunk, and you're probably not that coordinated, so you'll get what? 500 pictures of your ear, your half-empty cosmopolitan, and your best friend's left nostril? Just sayin'. :p
I had a busy day yesterday, too: did an interview, looked at some studios, went to wushu, cranked out some template mockups, whoof. I have more to do tonight, too, but I'm hoping that doesn't take *too* terribly long.
In conclusion, I am sad about Kurt Vonnegut. I must read even *more* of his books now.
