I stole this link from [personal profile] craftyran  many days ago, but I find that I'm something of a fan of Crazy Aunt Purl. I like blog writers who can actually write! :D

I've had the feeling as of late that something needs to happen in the realm of my career. See, when you're dragging yourself through a task that you may not necessarily feel like doing at the moment, you focus on the Day Of Some Climactic Event, and after said Day, you get to take a step back and relax a bit. For instance, if I'm going to an extra wushu practice, but am feeling tired out from training, I can say, "oh, I only have to train hard until Berkeley, and then I can take things a little easier." And then I'll go to practice with the knowledge that the drag-out-tired feeling *will* pass.

I don't really have such an event in the realm of work, though, because things are not likely to change here for a good while, so for the moment, it feels like I'll be dragging myself through the workweek indefinitely. I'm clearly not going to have a Day unless I come up with one myself. I'm trying to think of a few things that could alleviate this feeling:

1) A raise, promotion, or some increase in respect? I'm not sure I've done much to earn that, be it through lack of deed or lack of tooting my own horn. No real appointed Day for this.
2) New job? Could be okay, but could also be limiting, esp. since I'm slowly doing more development-ish work at Current!Job. No Day, either.
3) Taking a class or three LCC? Spring Term could be the appointed Day, since I'll have credit cards paid off and CMAT will be over.
4) My own business taking off? Yeah, that could rock. I have no real Day to pin down for this, either, at least not yet.

I'm not sure if any of those things will help, but maybe they would. Of course, The Red Devil makes everything seem worse, so maybe I should sit on these thoughts for a week and see if I'm still grumpy then. ;p

On a less grumpy note, Ben and I went to Factory Fabrics over lunch the other day, because I heard from [personal profile] bychoice   that everything was 50% off, due to them closing for good. We got like five different backdrops of massive sizes for way cheap. :D

And in closing, that Diet Coke-and-Mentos thing? Yes, it really works. XD (thank you Eiji)
