Lather, Rinse, Repeat
Jan. 3rd, 2007 03:21 pmEDIT: I forgot to mention this earlier, but! There is apparently a Karaoke Night at The Old Pad, which is near my place. So, I'm thinking I might like to try it sometime soon. Anyone interested? :D Starts at 9pm on Thursday nights.
Well, yesterday certainly had its ups and downs, sigh. But, it wasn't bad overall. Throwing papers in the pouring rain was less-than-fun, but it was warm enough outside that it wasn't a huge deal, and I had a nice new sweater to keep me really toasty. Also played racquetball, although Ben and David had to use squash racquets, because they didn't have enough racquetball racquets, heh. It was interesting, to say the least.
I think this is going to be one of those I'm Really Tired weeks. I'm trying to get extra rest wherever I can, but the Red Devil turns me into a sleep monster, so who knows if it's actually helping at all. ;p
I got a fun idea for a shoot earlier today... we have a huge trampoline in the back yard right now, so I want to get some fun shots of people jumping up and down on it, and doing random things mid-air. If any of you guys happen to be up for such a thing, let me know! :) Otherwise, it'll be the usual round of Craigslist models. It'll be tough to plan around the weather, but we'll figure out something.
Tonight, I train and try to get some work done. But for now, resolutions!

Old ones are copied from this post, new ones are bolded. :)
1) Stop being an idiot with my money.
Sub-goals:
--Beef up savings account and throw that into a mutual fund.
--Make a Real Long-Term Investment. A house is sounding like the most feasible of the lot.
2) Lose whatever relatively small amount of weight I need in order to feel healthy and improve athletically.
Sub-goals:
--Control eating habits. I should only eat when I'm hungry, and stop when I'm full.
--Cook more often. Better food comes out of my skillet than out of a drive-thru window. :)
--More aerobic exercise. I've likely screwed up my metabolism, and I need to correct it.
3) Be better about keeping in touch with people.
Sub-goals:
--Maintain monthly e-mail list. Actually tell people WTF I'm doing, and encourage replies.
--Pester family more.
4) Get over myself and learn to trust people more.
Sub-goals:
--Stop being paranoid about boyfriend. Just be honest, and make sure he knows that I reeeeally like him.
--Be more open with people in general. Be happy, cranky, whatever, as long as it's current and real.
5) Don't torpedo my own efforts when I get discouraged. I get discouraged more than I should, largely due to mood swings and whatnot, but it generally passes if I wait it out for long enough. If I can stay vigilant during those downswings, I could kick a whole lot of ass at a whole lot of things.
Sub-goals:
--Establish routines to help keep focus
--Keep healthy to help avoid mood-swingyness
6) Win a gold or silver at tournament! I have no idea what the odds are of this happening. I guess it's more of a goal than a resolution, since it's not something that's completely under my own control, but it's something to drive the training.
Sub-goals:
--Do isometrics and core training, and stick with it
--Get those basics rock-solid
7) Go somewhere I've never been. I don't care if it's something a few miles from home, or someplace remote and far away... as long as I see something new. :)
