They can't all be zingers
Nov. 29th, 2006 11:30 amSo check this: last night, I got to see a Primus show! For FREE! :O
Yes, apparently, somebody at Ben's job got free tickets that he couldn't/didn't want to use, so Ben called me about it, as I was wrapping up my paper route, and off we went. Saw
spiralshannon on the way in, and caught most of the opening band. They were pretty talented as instrumentalists, but generally, they were more interesting when they weren't singing.
As for Primus, they were a lot of fun, and mighty impressive! I'm not super-familiar with their catalogue--just enough so to know that I generally like their style--but you don't quite get a complete sense of how insanely skilled they are, until you see them in action. They make it look ridiculously easy. If I had half the mad skills that Les Claypool has, I'd consider that an achievement. ;p In short, if they come to your town, don't miss out, because they're awesome.
Anyhoo, the paper route went along all right yesterday. It's fairly easy, but it was kind of slow going until I broke down and got some rubber bands, so I could roll up the papers and make them more toss-friendly. All the walking around was good, too, even if it was freezing cold. Also, the way people label their houses in this town--or *don't* label them, as the case may be--is a little ridiculous. ;p
I hope to fix Mr. Computer tonight, so I can do important stuff like scan things for my dad, and work on photos for
bychoice and
bodhranist. Or work on, y'know, *anything*. I'm feeling fairly motivated to work on things, but fixing the computer isn't something I want to be spending all my time on, especially when I didn't *do* anything to break it.
On the plus side, with the computer being busted, I've been working on a really long skinny scarf for a scant few days, and am already well over halfway done. You tend to make quick progress, when you're sitting around watching disk repair utilities run. ;p

The Flash is annoying and slow, but it's a fun quiz anyway... although I'm not *that* nice, jeez. :p
