"Eat this meat. Say you like it."
Nov. 2nd, 2006 02:14 pmBy some miracle of culinary science, I made the most magical salad for lunch today! I had some leftover chicken breast (spiced with cumin and paprika and other southern-y things) after dinner last night, so I threw it together with some greens and tomato and cheese, and improvised a vinagrette to go with. It's yummy. I think I'm becoming a better cook, to the point where I don't need to follow a recipe. I'm definitely making more stuff on the fly, or occasionally using a recipe loosely, as a jumping-off point towards something more interesting.
Must make more time to experiment. Bwahaha.
So, my new iPod nano has reminded me of something: I *really* don't like earbuds. The right one will usually sit perfectly, but the left one never does, so everything sounds quieter, tinnier, and crappier. Maybe my ears are asymmetrical in some way such that the bloody things don't sit properly on both sides of my head. BOO-URNS. I guess I'll have to look into better headphones sometime.
In other news, I'm looking into external hard drives and such, so I can actually have a real system for backing up my data. Ever since my 300GB SATA drive made like it was going to die a horrible death a while back, I've been really paranoid about losing my files. Of course, I'd need a huge one, so I can't really afford it at the moment. Sigh, maybe I should just get a spool of DVD-RWs for now... but those could be spendy, too. :p
Anyhoo, yesterday went along pretty well. Being back at wushu was good times, and my splits were crazy-good, considering I haven't stretched out since last Friday. However, I am a sissy when it comes to squats. I didn't have as much trouble supporting the bar as I thought I would, at least, but it was *rough*. Well, I guess I have nowhere to go but up!
I stayed up too late last night, though, because I was waiting for my comforter to get done in the dryer. It's frickin' freezing.
