"I'm not cheap, I'm just old."
May. 17th, 2006 06:06 pmWell, chalk up yet another random compliment on my looks from somebody whom I'm vaguely skeeved out to be receiving compliments from. I went out for coffee this morning, and as I passed some random dude on the way back, he looked at me and blurted out, "oh, you're BEAUTIFUL!" Of course, said random dude was also getting on in years and going visibly gray.
Why is it always the weird and/or old people who give me compliments like that? Note that by "old," I mean, "too old to be hitting on ladies my age" Old, as opposed to, "immobilized in a wheelchair and can't remember one's own name" Old. If I'm cute enough to merit random compliments, why do they not come from people in my own age group, or from people with relatively-similar life circumstances to mine? (namely, those who are not near-homeless or appearing to have been previously incarcerated) Am I just really scary to people my in my own age group, or what?
Anyhoo, things keep rolling along. Wushu tonight, wee! And I gotta get up early tomorrow so I can hopefully get into work early, so I'd better take off. :)
