The quote is from here. XD
Weekend was good.
I did jumps at wushu on Friday! I did them totally half-assed because of my ankle, but I did them. Soooo happy. I hope it keeps getting better; I want to be back at 100%. We did an UBRS run after I got back from practice... Winkletoes was kind of too low for UBRS (lvl 54), and although it went okay initially, I got a lot of spell resists towards the end. I only stayed until after we killed Rend, but I think that, as a group, we were owning face pretty well. There's hope for us yet! :)
I went out for karaoke with
divadrummer after that, and got
bookid to come along, too! It wasn't the best experience, because there were literally 40 people in the rotation, so we had to wait a very long time before we got to sing anything. By the time I did my first song, it was clear that they wouldn't get around to my second one. BOO-URNS. But it was fun anyway, and Eiji is a pretty hilarious drunken bastard.
On Saturday, I tried to get some stuff accomplished at home, with mixed results, so after a while, I gave up and went to work out for a bit. I eventually met up with Ben, David, Jenny, and Mike in the late afternoon, and we went up to Skinner's Butte to experiment with some outdoor photography. I got kind of obsessed with this oddly-shaped tree branch and kept posing on it, and I did a few jumps in an attempt to get crazy action shots. The guys made some reflectors to use outside, because I'd mentioned that, after seeing the photographer use them at the Mt. Pisgah shoot. They kind of worked, and I think we got some cool pictures out of it. I did some edits in Photoshop, and will probably do more later, but go see for yourself. :)
A few of us went tango dancing after that, which I've never done before. We got there too late for the beginner's lesson, so basically I got a 2-minute crash course from Ben and Jenny, and then went out on the floor and tried some stuff. It was fun, and I learned a few things, but my toes kind of got crushed from being stepped on a lot. Having size 11 feet? Not exactly conducive to good partnered dancing. ;p It pretty much means that I have to take biiiig steps. It was a little intimidating, because we showed up so late that only the really good dancers were still there, so I didn't really want to foist my ineptitude on those with mad skills, but I still definitely need to go again sometime, and wear better shoes.
On Sunday, I went to Portlandia *yet* again to meet up with
xplo_eristotle! :O He's thinking about moving up there, which would kick ass. I didn't get up there until mid-afternoon, because I had to wait on Pizza Pipeline to deliver a Colossus pizza, because he saw me mention the thing after Keith was in town, and decided that he had to have one. ::rotfl:: Yeah, so the pizza was a bit cold by the time I got it there, but it traveled well!
We wound up biffing around town for a bit--mostly due to being sort-of-lost (shut up)--but we eventually found Ground Kontrol. They apparently moved it and put a nice shine to the inside of the place since the last time I'd been, and they'd had a friggin' Minibosses show that I somehow didn't know about! Baaahhhh. Then we went to get some Thai food, at a place which I was a bit leery of at first, because they had this totally cheesy-looking sign with a cartoon elephant on it out front, but the interior was surprisingly nice, and the food was good. At that point, I had to drive the 2 hours home and attempt sleep, but it was good times!
And here it is, Monday. Bleh! I'm tired and having trouble focusing, but I'll get over it.
