So, I want to get one of those terry cloth wristbands to protect the inside of my arm when I do broadsword, but when I search for pink wristbands on eBay--to match my new silks, of course--I get cheap plastic pieces of crap like this. Ugh, that's a trend that can't die soon enough. :p

I read an article today about risks associated with coffee, and one quote in the article leapt out at me: "The new study "clearly illustrates that one size does not fit all," El-Sohemy said. "Perhaps in the future we'll be making different (dietary) recommendations based on people's genetic makeup.""

That? Seems completely obvious to me. Why *aren't* we making different recommendations based on the individual? Everyone's body works differently, and everyone is going to need at least a slightly different method in order to maintain health. Some folks can eat eggs and bacon every morning and live to be 93, while others who attempt that end up having heart attacks in their 50's. There are endless different methods for maintaining health, and many of them seem to meet with mixed results. Why? Because there *is* no catch-all solution for everyone. Be it food allergies, blood glucose problems, cholesterol issues, or whatever else, everyone is going to have a different set of challenges to contend with.

With the way that medical and nutritional science seems to contradict itself every few years with new research, it seems like the only real solution is for each individual to see a doctor, have some tests done, and get a dietary recommendation that is personalized. So, why aren't we doing that already?

Anyhoo, Lazy Tuesday! W00t w00t! Watched House and ate fajitas and tried to fix the computer. I dug around on the HD, and found that not only was the aforementioned DLL missing, but so was the *entire* Windows/system32/ directory! O_o; After spending a couple hours trying different things, I found out that there was a virus on the drive. Gah. That's certainly a first for me; usually my computer dies due to some random hardware problem. ::groan::

So, I'm basically going to be reformatting and reinstalling, which suck-diddly-ucks. :p But, I was able to make backups of my important files, so it could be a lot worse. Also, my dad gave me a link to some free anti-virus software, which seems very good so far--and not as resource-hoggy as Norton, either--so hopefully that'll keep things happy and healthy with Alphonse in the future.

Lalala. I think that's all I've got.
