Happy birthday
whiteraevyn! I hope it's a good one! :)
I'm not sure how I managed to not know this, but: Tori Amos was once a Cornflake Girl! (link stolen from
divadrummer) Man, I used to be such a Tori fanatic. I haven't really kept up with her recent stuff, but I still love her crazy piano skills. I still have a ton of MP3s on my HD from various shows several years ago, and I have to smile a little when one of them randomly comes up on my playlist at home. :)
So, apparently I'm getting close to $40 for the demo we did at Churchill HS last Friday. That one was fun, too, because those high school kids *loved* us. Maybe if I actually get good, I could get paid for this stuff more often. ::laughs::
Speaking of the Friday demo, here's what my broadsword looks like now:
I only got to start really using the thing several months ago, so I'm saaaaaad. I don't know how the hell I'm going to train for Berkeley, because now I only have Mr. Pointy (my straightsword, and +5 brownie points if you catch the reference), and I don't think I have time to learn compulsory straightsword. And *that's* assuming Phil would even let me learn it. x_x I might get a balanced broadsword to replace Mr. Slashy, though, because I played around with David's on Friday afternoon, and that thing flowers like nobody's business. <3
In other news, ALL MY FANS (hur hur) may weep at this news, but I'm going to put my CP grind on hold for the next month or so. I think that with my current training schedule, I've pretty much reached the threshold of how far I can advance in PvP ranks. I probably won't get any farther until after Berkeley, when things slow down, and you know? I'm kind of burned out on PvP anyway.
I want to power Winkletoes through the 40s and start taking her on guild raids. And, I should really get more set pieces for Fiz, because I can't do crap in BGs if I'm so horrendously out-geared. Hell, I just want to quest and play the damned game, and not deal with asshats who only know how to farm HKs. So, I'm thinking I'll do just enough to stay in a nice holding pattern at Knight until mid-April, and then I can make a run for Grand Marshal. :)
Not much to mention, because yesterday was Lazy Tuesday, so I kept with the grand tradition of laziness. Well, I had to clean the kitchen, so it wasn't all *that* lazy, but at least J cooked so I didn't have to. Also, I got the Collegiates banquet details finalized, *finally*, so after I drop off the deposit, I can just focus on being the floor coordinator. Whoof. :p
Oh yeah!! I got my silks in the mail yesterday! <3 They're not *exactly* how I expected them to be, but they look pretty awesome. I will definitely have to put them on and do some fierce wushu poses during peekture time this weekend.
Weekend stuff is already piling up--karaoke madness on Saturday, Serenity RPG on Sunday. Other stuff may also be in the works... oy!
