I kind of want to go see Syriana, which is a bit weird. There are other movies I'm *way* more interested in, content-wise (hint hint), but Syriana has Dr. Bashir in it--he was actually credited and prominently shown in the TV trailer, even!--and I am a Trek nerd until I die, so I want to at least go and give the man his props. ::rotfl::
It is very cool that he's getting actual post-DS9 work, though, even if the majority of the roles seem to be in the Dignified Middle-Eastern Guy vein. You know I gave out an honorary squee when he showed up in Kingdom of Heaven. :)
Anyhoo, last night involved some pretty massive frustration. After spending about five hours digging through my computer parts graveyard, running through a hard drive wipe and several installers, every last thing on this "new" computer seems to work like a dream... EXCEPT the effing video card!!
The drivers either aren't recognized by Windows as being digitally signed/useable, or the drivers *are* recognized but also completely hose the system so that it continually fails on startup. And, of course, the video card driver is the one thing that really *needs* to work, because 3D acceleration won't work without it. And THAT means that we can't play WoW on the bloody thing, which is pretty much the entire reason why I spent all this time digging through the closet for spare parts and BLEEDING all over the place from the various little cuts on my hands!!
In conclusion: Windows and nVIDIA can officially BLOW ME. :p It can't possibly be that hard to produce an OS and a driver that will actually work together as intended, can it?!
Well, in more cheerful news, I unexpectedly made Sergeant in the PvP ranks this week! I earned a holy ass-ton of honor points for my time spent in Arathi Basin, even though I got only about 1/5th the HKs I racked up the first time I went to Alterac Valley. Hooray for AB! I'll be going back for sure.
We did Thanksgiving shopping last night, and I'm now officially excited because, dear GOD, the food! It's going to be crazy. J is baking a dutch apple pie tonight, and it'll be hard to resist just stealing it and eating the whole thing a day early. ::rotfl::
Anyhoo, I'm very glad that tomorrow is a holiday, because I could use one.
Tonight, I go home and clean like crazy, try to get the stupid video card drivers working, maybe go to Taiji, and possible give Gizmo a bath.

Date: 2005-11-23 10:47 pm (UTC)Oh, thank Heavens I'm not the only one who noticed that! ^_^;
Sad thing is, based on my massive, massive teenage crush on Sid and the fact I'm still lugging around a three-inch binder crammed full of photos and fan club paraphenalia, I'm going to be too embarrassed to go watch this film. ^^;
