Thursdaaaaayyyyy
Sep. 15th, 2005 02:17 pmEDIT: Question of the day! Where can I find some cute fluted tart molds for cheap? (something like these?) As preparation and testing for my eventual Chinese Food Extravaganza, I need to do a test run on a batch of wee Chinese Egg Tarts. But, I need cute little fluted tart molds in order to do it!
Note to self: Command TiVo to record Survivor: Guatemala. Because you are still lame enough to get obsessed with that freaking show. And because Mark Burnett is clearly in league with Satan.
As an excuse to blather about TV to you, and partly as a reminder to myself to update the damned TiVo, here's what I think I'll be watching this season, and why:
The Returning Cast:
Battlestar Galactica - It's a very different animal from the original. But, it's good in its own way. We need more Crazy Baltar, though; he's so freakin' entertaining.
CSI - This is no surprise, I'm sure. There were some really excellent episodes last season, so I'm on board.
Lost - I'm still a bit peeved by the huge cliffhanger finale, but I enjoyed the characters enough that it'll bring me back. If they trim down the Jack/Kate angst, I will be a happy camper.
Mythbusters - Blowing things up for science! What could be more fun than that?
Stargate SG-1/Atlantis - Yeah, I was watching these last season. I just didn't talk about it much. :) I like it, though, and J is obsessed, so we've taken to sitting down and watching it every week.
Survivor - Yeah, yeah, I know. I start off the season being bored and skeptical, but this show inevitably sucks me in for the long haul. I am both excited and ashamed.
Veronica Mars - I have no idea what their plan is for the second season, but if it's anything like the first, it will completely rock.
The Newcomers:
House - I guess this could also be counted as a returner, but I didn't actually watch most of the first season until it was in summer repeats. Again, great characters are what makes this show stick out. Hugh Laurie is awesome.
Monk - I don't know why I didn't start watching this show sooner, but I've enjoyed every episode I've seen thus far. Tony Shalhoub totally deserves the Emmy.
Prison Break - I caught the 2-hour premiere and I must admit that I enjoyed it. Let's hope this continues to be good.
DELETED!!!!11:
Alias - Yuck. Last season was an improvement on the two before it, but... that's not really saying a lot. I pretty much stopped caring about halfway through last season, so I'm not going back.
All that stuff that got cancelled - Because, well, yeah. Don't really have much choice in the matter, there.
I may have forgotten some. I'm also open to suggestions. (::cough::

I read some postings about liver flushes, and I am both horrified and fascinated by it. I'm primarily horrified because I've actually had epsom salts before--I'd bought them for foot soaks back when I was having toe problems, and one time, I needed a laxative, and I already had the salts in the house, so, um, yeah--and DEAR GOD it tasted foul. Very much "like licking a handful of pocket change from 1972". But I'm rather intrigued by the process, and am curious as to whether it actually *does* anything to your body, aside from making weird things come out of your poop chute.
Probably not curious enough to *try* it, of course. But, yes, curious.
Anyhoo, it's a pretty normal Thursday. Workout was excellent yesterday; tonight is Taiji night. W00t! I also have to finish a few things I started on last night, and check through the stuff in my donation box. Yes, I actually plan to get rid of the stuff, after 2 months of putting it off. Amazing, no?
I'm out. Whee!
