Woohoo! Hugh Laurie got an Emmy nom for House! This is happy-making; it's a tough role and I'm hard-pressed to think of a moment when he played it anything but pitch-perfect.

Other good stuff in the Emmy noms: Terry O'Quinn is up for Best Supporting as Locke in Lost. Yay Admiral Pressman! ::rotfl:: But really, he's also pitch-perfect in pretty much anything he does, so it's much deserved. Tony Shalhoub is up for Best Actor in a comedy in Monk. I've been meaning to tell TiVo to grab that, because I caught a few eps at random, and it's a far sight better than anything else on USA Network, to say the very least. :)

Also, the "Three Stories" episode of House and "Walkabout" from Lost are up for writing noms--personally, I'm thinking that "Three Stories" should take it, because it was such a fun and well-constructed episode. I feel like "Walkabout" was more contingent on the quality of the acting; the episode being Locke-centric was a big part of why it turned out awesome. :)

Stinkers in the Emmy noms: The West Wing. I didn't even know that show was still *on*. I don't watch it nowadays, but I hear that it has basically been on a steady decline for the past few seasons. BOOOO. Also: Will and Grace?? I mean, yeah, it's not a bad show, but is it really worthy of that many nominations? On the other hand, there is a real dearth of sitcoms that are actually funny nowadays, so who am I kidding? W&G probably *is* among the best offerings of the year. Sigh.

Anyway, I'm glad, glad, glad that it's Friday! It has been way busy this week. Going to a party tomorrow eve, and the rest of the weekend will involve lots of WoW, sleeping, and maybe some projects, if I'm not feeling too brain-drained.

West Wing this last season was decent, but in a very different way than the first couple seasons were good. The year before this last one was the one that really just sucked.

Emmy's? What Emmy's?

I didn't even know it was that time of year! I live in a box... a very small wooden one. Speaking of small wooden boxes, I am going to make a Basinet in the shape of an old coffin, yay! It's a present for a friend who's fixing to spit out a youngling.

Hey S,
this is kinda outta the blue, but I might try to get a job at Lunar Logic (doing who knows what, but I think Flash stuff). If I did I think I'd be working with or under you (which is totally cool with me, but is it ok with you? (maybe you know someone better for the job, I don't want to butt in)) Also, I don't know how good I have to be with flash... here is a little demo I did recently, check it out and tell me what you think about all this (and if it's ok with you then I'll persue it.)

Also, Locke rules. The last episode was such a dirty slutty tease though! Argh!

Yo yo yo! I'm not sure that Flash devs would actually be working on my team, but either way, I'm groovy with that. More cool people need to join my team! (or, you know, just more *people* in general, but cool is better ^_-)

It looks to me like you are doing Actionscript that's at a good level, so definitely give it a go! Lemme know when/if you apply; I will try to put in many good words. :)

Yeah, I have heard from a few people that it got better this season, but yeah, obviously not as good as it was early on. :) It just yanks my chain when awardpeople continue to slobber over shows that have stopped being good, when there is other stuff out there that's (arguably) better.

true true. The awards in general irk me, they're just a little too far disconnected from reality.
