Tee-vee, tee-vee, tee-vee!
Jul. 15th, 2005 03:47 pmWoohoo! Hugh Laurie got an Emmy nom for House! This is happy-making; it's a tough role and I'm hard-pressed to think of a moment when he played it anything but pitch-perfect.
Other good stuff in the Emmy noms: Terry O'Quinn is up for Best Supporting as Locke in Lost. Yay Admiral Pressman! ::rotfl:: But really, he's also pitch-perfect in pretty much anything he does, so it's much deserved. Tony Shalhoub is up for Best Actor in a comedy in Monk. I've been meaning to tell TiVo to grab that, because I caught a few eps at random, and it's a far sight better than anything else on USA Network, to say the very least. :)
Also, the "Three Stories" episode of House and "Walkabout" from Lost are up for writing noms--personally, I'm thinking that "Three Stories" should take it, because it was such a fun and well-constructed episode. I feel like "Walkabout" was more contingent on the quality of the acting; the episode being Locke-centric was a big part of why it turned out awesome. :)
Stinkers in the Emmy noms: The West Wing. I didn't even know that show was still *on*. I don't watch it nowadays, but I hear that it has basically been on a steady decline for the past few seasons. BOOOO. Also: Will and Grace?? I mean, yeah, it's not a bad show, but is it really worthy of that many nominations? On the other hand, there is a real dearth of sitcoms that are actually funny nowadays, so who am I kidding? W&G probably *is* among the best offerings of the year. Sigh.
Anyway, I'm glad, glad, glad that it's Friday! It has been way busy this week. Going to a party tomorrow eve, and the rest of the weekend will involve lots of WoW, sleeping, and maybe some projects, if I'm not feeling too brain-drained.

Date: 2005-07-17 08:01 am (UTC)this is kinda outta the blue, but I might try to get a job at Lunar Logic (doing who knows what, but I think Flash stuff). If I did I think I'd be working with or under you (which is totally cool with me, but is it ok with you? (maybe you know someone better for the job, I don't want to butt in)) Also, I don't know how good I have to be with flash... here is a little demo I did recently, check it out and tell me what you think about all this (and if it's ok with you then I'll persue it.)

Also, Locke rules. The last episode was such a dirty slutty tease though! Argh!
