I think I must have reached critical mass on Friday evening.

I got in the car after work, and headed over to VOS to get a motherboard, as I'd planned. But then, instead of going to wushu after that, I somehow ended up over at Gateway. I got a bubble tea and wandered around shopping, buying stuff that I didn't particularly need. I did keep it under $100, so it's not a financial issue; it was just weird to be seized by such a sudden urge for retail therapy.

See, I don't really shop very much, unless I've got holes in my shoes, or my clothes are becoming ill-fitting/threadbare, and when I *do* shop, I usually have an afternoon/evening picked out for that purpose at least several days in advance. It comes from not having much money for several years. Not that I'm exactly rolling in it nowadays, but I was definitely hurting for cash in college, like most students are.

Anyway, I came home and ate Kraft mac-n-cheese (go go gadget comfort food) and played with my new stuff, and put in the happy new motherboard, and just sat on my ass watching TV. When James finally escaped from work, he admitted that he hadn't eaten all day, so we went to a late dinner at Shari's, where I ate a big plate of pancakes until my tummy almost physically hurt.

All the indulgence felt pretty darn good, I have to say. Mostly the food, but yes. It didn't even take that much of it.

Saturday was oddly wonderful, considering that I spent a lot of it--well, outside of dinner and movie with the posse--sorting through the excess junk in the house. We have *far* too much crap in the house, and I sure as hell am not moving the excess all the way across town, so I plan to have a sidewalk sale!

See, I have some pretty excellent stuff that is gently used, or sometimes completely unused, and I'm thinking somebody would probably enjoy having those things for only a few bucks. Also, it would be a cool venue for selling off the knit/crochet projects that I cannot possibly use all by my lonesome. So yeah, I was pretty excited about the whole business, and anything that can get you excited about cleaning house? Extra Good.

I also have a re-vamp of my long-neglected Sore-loser.net in the works. Spending 7-8 hours of one's day in front of the computer doing webstuff tends to make one shy away from doing webstuff after arriving back home. But, I think the ol' creativity is making its way back to me. Now that I'm thinking about it, it has actually been quite a dry spell these past few months.

Sunday was not particularly fun, because it involved me sitting at my desk at the office until 10:30pm at night. But, those overtime dollars will be looking pretty good when they show up. Booyaka!

And in closing: Why is it that, every time I think I've heard the most utterly obnoxious cell phone ringtone on earth, somebody else has to come along and prove me wrong? Cripes, man.

I'm out!
