Re: the quote--more funny from Overheard in New York. :D

So, weekend was good, albeit not the way I expected. I reserved this totally cute room at a bed and breakfast, and it turned out excellent. The hosts were very nice folks, the room itself is prettier than it looks online, and the view of the garden and waterfall in the back was gorgeous. Oh, and the breakfast was tasty, too. They certainly make sure that you leave the table with a full belly. :)

We also had a great dinner at the Firehouse restaurant, which was just up the street in Old Town. The place was packed, and the service was a bit laggy, but the food was good, and we weren't really in any hurry, anyway.

Sadly, we wound up leaving Florence early. James started feeling ill after breakfast on Saturday, probably due to the stress he's been under at the job. And, to top that off, it was *pouring* rain outside. We don't usually get such prolonged, heavy rain in Oregon (prolonged, yes, but not *that* heavy), so it kind of put a damper on a lot of the things we wanted to do. Apparently, the weather forecast said that the rain was going to continue throughout the weekend, so we decided to save the hundred bucks and come home a day early. It was a nice stay, overall, and totally worth doing; it was just a little shorter than I'd planned on. :)

Pet peeve: people who misspell "Caesar." No, it is not "Ceaser," or "Ceasar," or even "Caeser". CAESAR. Caesar is not just a salad, people! He was a frickin' Emperor, so learn to spell his name!

Speaking of salad, tragedy struck late last week: I am the queen of the $1.98 lunch, so I have two things I eat when I don't have time to pack my own lunch: the $1.98 special at Taco Bell, and the small chili and Caesar side salad at Wendy's. This has been kind of a long-standing thing for me, because they're cheap lunches, with modest-sized portions, that also taste good.

So anyway, I got busy late last week, so I went and picked up my chili/salad combo at Wendy's, and brought it back to my desk to eat it. Imagine my shock and horror when, after a few bites of salad, I mixed it around a bit more, and found a DEAD FLY in my salad!!

This has, of course, completely ruined my cute cheapo lunch! When I think about the small chili, or a burger from Wendy's, or anything else on the menu, those things still sound good, but the minute I think about eating one of those side salads, the first thing that comes into my brain is that effing dead fly. Eeewww. I've gotten salads there before countless times with absolutely no problems, but this one bad experience has scarred me for at least the next few weeks. I'm so sad!

Anyway, lots of training to do tonight at wushu practice! I totally slacked off over the weekend, and I'm sure I'll be paying for it today. Blaaaaahhhh.
