It's Friday! And it's a Friday that is payday! That's the best kind of Friday, y'all.

So, weird story: I usually lift on Thursdays, but I've been trying to take it a little easy on my knees this week, so yesterday I just ended up doing some yoga. It's a nice way to work out, but I usually don't get sore from it, because it stretches you out so well. However, I woke up this morning after falling asleep in front of the TV (I really have to stop doing that), and everything from my hips to my knees felt sore. That usually only happens the day after a good wushu practice or a lifting session, so it was a little weird.

Now, I've been known to do some random, weird stuff in my sleep before, without any knowledge that I was doing it. So, I asked J after he got up if he noticed me doing anything unusual the night before. He said that, yes, I *had* been doing some stuff in my sleep.

J: "...yeah, you were doing like, wushu forms or something."
Me: ::snicker:: "Yeah, right."
J: "I'm serious! You were doing this squatting thing."
Me: "Squatting thing? What kind of squatting thing? Like sitting?"
J: "Yeah, it was like you were tryng to sit on nothing!"

A few more questions later, and I figured out that I was, apparently, holding horse stance for 150 counts, like we've been known to do at practice. Except I was doing it at home. In the middle of the night. IN MY SLEEP. I guess that helps explain the soreness, but still, WTF?? ::rotfl::

God, this effing sport is taking over my life.

In other news, Survivor is surprisingly good this season. Vanuatu kind of made me want to jam something pointy in my eye, I think because I didn't really like most of the people they cast. I kind of expected this new season to be horrible, but it seems like there are so many more enjoyable people-as-characters that I have a hard time deciding who to root for. When it comes to this show, the cast will make or break the entire season.

I probably shouldn't be surprised, seeing as a few of my nearest-and-dearest friends are snarky gay boys, but I am *totally* on the Coby train. I'm loving his strategery and his snarky commentary, and his confessionals are the *best*. He talks to the camera in a wonderfully conspiratorial way.

Ian is so dorktacular that I'm totally in his corner--that big goofy grin and those big nerdy glasses are just too charming. Apparently, he's a popular guy in his daily life, but he just seems like the sort of person who'd be a *huge* blip on the Dork Radar. And when he apologized to the snakes before killing them as a food source? Aaaawww!

The most surprising castmember, for me, is Bobby Jon. I had him pegged pre-show as your usual reality show famewhore-ish, utterly vapid, self-important type, who mainly got cast for the purpose of reeling in the female viewers who would happily hit this. But, he actually has a weirdly intriguing personality, and is so eager to take responsibility every time his tribe loses, that I just want to give the guy a hug. Yes, boys, a good sense of personal responsibility is Hot. Maybe it's just because I'm a capital-A Adult now, but yes. Hot.

On the girls' side, Angie's trash-talking and yelling during challenges was pretty played out, but she went out and tore it up in every challenge, to the point where I had to love her for it. They established her as something of an outcast/underdog in the first ep, too, which I admit to being a bit of a sucker for.

Stephenie has scary eyebrows and kind of looks like Sam the Eagle from certain angles, but DAMN, does she ever kick ass in challenges! She pretty much carries her tribe in the challenges, and it's really quite amazing. I would love to be in that kind of shape.

ANYWAY. I must be off for Portlandia soon. I'll be back probably sometime in the afternoon tomorrow! :D

I'm rooting for Tom. He seems to be a natural leader; the entire tribe started looking to him for advice mere hours after they set foot on the island. He's got the physical attributes to get him through the challenges, and I think he's got the common sense and intelligence to go far. But we'll see. The real backstabbing hasn't really started yet...

I don't think anyone on Ulong has a chance. They've gotten nailed in the challenges, and they just can't seem to cooperate. Long live Koror.

I'm not quite on the Tom train, for some reason--I suspect he may come up short on the strategery end of things--but he is effing *awesome* in challenges. The guy's a frickin' machine! And I enjoy his sillier exploits with Ian, too.

And yeah, Ulong is pretty much screwed, and they keep making dumb choices in terms of voting. Like, why is Dobby--I mean, James--even still there??

What's Janu like? I saw her picture, and then I saw that she was almost fourty, and I was, like, "Damn, girl! I want your genes!"

SARARARARAH

I am so with you on the Coby love. Survivor is just not the same without some snarky gay guy.

Also, I love his skirts. He can do my hair any day.

Janu is pretty okay. She's on the tribe that's been winning all of the immunities, so she hasn't gotten as much screen time. They only show tribal council alliance-y drama for the losing tribe, so that's automatically, oh, 1/4th of each episode that she wouldn't be involved in.

She *did* do this awesome bit of tree climbing in the first episode--she just shimmied right on up a tree with a long trunk and no low branches, and it was downright impressive! Definitely in shape. I guess she's been feeling pretty weak and/or sick since then, though, according to the folks at TWOP who have also watched the Insider Videos on the CBS website. Sigh.

YAY COBY! He's kind of like Richard Hatch, except he actually seems like a nice guy, underneath the snarkyness. I don't think he'll be quite as effective with the strategery as Richard, though, which makes me saaaad. :(
