I'm not sure how I got on the e-mail list for L'Oreal, but these eyeshadows are looking pretty gorgeous. Of course, I'm sure if I tried to do something similar on myself, it would just turn out goofy, what with my unsteady hands and me not being airbrushed and all that. Heh. :) But, anyway, *maybe* if I see it in the store and I have a few extra bucks... I'm loving those purple shades.

ANYWAY! The Taiwan Acrobats were pretty sweet! They did some pretty amazing and interesting things with ordinary objects, like this, or this. One guy balanced on his hands at what must have been 20 or 30 feet in the air by the end, on top of a precariously stacked tower of chairs and wine bottles. The girls used more flexibility-based moves in a lot of their stunts, but they were clearly very strong, too. It was pretty awesome!

Oh yeah, and there was one woman who was possibly the best unicycler I have ever seen. She rode around on a 10-foot tall unicycle while balancing stacks of bowls on her head, and doing tricks with them while pedaling the unicycle with one foot! Yeah, Unicycle Mike *wishes* he was half as cool as this lady. ::rotfl::

I wish I had been able to take pictures, because words can't really express how impressive some of this stuff was. The members of this team of acrobats has apparently been training for an average of 8 years, and it shows--they are some strong and flexible people with a *lot* of balance and muscle control. I had to squee just a little when one of the male team members made an entrance onto the stage by doing a butterfly kick. It was a pretty good one, too. I'm such a wushu nerd. :)

Also random: there were a bunch of people from work in attendance at the show last night, and apparently we all came separately. One guy came over and joked about the company taking over the entire town, and how we would all have streets named after us once Eugene is re-christened with the company name. Hee. :)

The show also reminded me that I'd like to go to Taiwan sometime. I haven't seen my grandma on my mom's side since I was probably 10 years old, and I don't think I have seen my youngest aunt since I was flower girl at her wedding, and I think I was only 3 or 4 years old for that. I don't even remember anything about Taiwan, because I haven't been there since I was a very little kid. :( I would like to see it again while I'm relatively young. Of course, my ma would probably say that I "have to lose weight first," so who knows? ::eyeroll::

This evening = work-related pizza party. If I go, I probably won't be there for long, because I have wushu at the usual hour. I probably won't get to have much pizza and beer, either, because I don't think I want a big pepperoni wad thudding around in my stomach while I try in vain to do aerials. Still, it might be okay. Well, assuming this headache goes away, anyway.
