I really should. I've dialed it down to regular coffee instead of the ultra-concentrated insanity of espresso, but lately, I've been having at least one cup a day. Well, except on weekends.

In spite of my coffee consumption, I was too tired to do anything last night after work, and we didn't get home until 7-ish, anyway. For some reason, I always end up staying late on Fridays, which is the worst day to have to do it, IMHO. It takes the weekend wind out of my sails, I guess.

Christmas shopping is a horrendous chore that makes me want to jam pointy things in my own eye. I'd complain about the fact that getting gift ideas from anyone was like pulling teeth, but then I remember how difficult a time *I* was having with making even a short list, and... well, I can't exactly hold it against anyone.

Several of us went to see Ocean's 12 the other night--pretty mediocre, by my estimation. It was fairly predictable, and seemed to mainly be about getting a bunch of famous people together and watching them dink around on camera together for 90 minutes. The story was entirely secondary, really. Come on, guys, where's the cool heist? Or, you know, the PLOT? Jeez. Oh, and Julia pretending to be Julia? Was the lamest thing ever. Oh my GOD.

Several of us here in the building went and looked at apartments across town earlier today, because we're all pretty much in agreement that the time to move into nicer digs is approaching. And you know, having friends so close by has been terribly nice, so why give that up? :) Anyhoo, the place we visited really had the whole package--dishwasher, plenty of space, washer and dryer, lots of storage, free cable, and it even allows you 2 pets. And they allow *painted walls*! Pardon me while I fan myself! The only real drawback is the fact that it's a good haul across town, so no more 5-minute jaunt to the office every morning. Still, I have a car, I can deal.

I've had a sore throat all week, for no apparent reason. I have work to do tomorrow, mostly on the freelance end of things. Oh, and more dreadful consumerism, of course. Rrrgh. I used to get so much joy out of Christmas shopping... maybe it was just the fact that I had the ability to get a gift for someone at *all*. Sigh.

I want some of that youthful ebullience back. :p
