"Good news, everyone! I'm a horse's ass!"
Nov. 15th, 2004 01:59 pmThis is so awesome: Jeopardy winner wagers...
I'm feeling oddly revved up this morning, but also in a very WTF state of mind, and I couldn't honestly tell you why. I had a weird dream on Friday night/Saturday morning, and woke up feeling rather thrown-off by it, but I can't remember what happened in it to cause that feeling. If I haven't recalled the dream by now, then I'm probably not going to. Sigh.
Saturday was pretty groovy, aside from the horrendous post-game traffic that made me late to the movie I was going to. Grrr! College football makes me hate. Or maybe it's just Autzen that makes me hate. Just the act of attempting to leave Autzen at a slow crawl post-game is enough to make me not want to see a UO game.
Anyway! Enough complaining.
numfar and
polysciguy came by with a proposal to go see After The Sunset, so I went with them and
craftyran! :) The movie itself wasn't a "wow" sort of film, but it was fun, and had a surprising amount of slashy moments. Said slashiness would have been better had it *not* involved Woody Harrelson, but hey, we take what we can get. :)
After that, I had to run off to
junsiew's birthday party, where we had some delicious hot pot for dinner. A tiny handful of us went out to Cafe Zenon afterwards, and I had a piece of something called "Almond Roca Pie", which was incredibly tasty and contained bits of Almond Roca candy inside (which I love), but it was so rich that I couldn't even finish it. Note to self: NO MORE CHOCOLATE-BASED DESSERTS AT CAFE ZENON. Seriously.
Anyone else out there vaguely creeped out by the trailers for Polar Express? Maybe it's the almost-but-not-quite-human animation, or maybe it's just Tom Hanks Overload, but me? Creeped. Out. I am apparently not the only one, either.
In other news, Phil came to me at practice on Friday, and he was all, "I don't know what I'm going to do for Collegiates; we have 16 people and a 12-passenger van..." Of course, I knew right then that he wanted me to offer to drive my car down for the tournament, so we can take more people. So, I did. I had to laugh a little on the inside, because what he was hoping for was *so* transparent, but I had already been thinking about driving myself down long before he brought it up, so I can't hold it against him. ::laughs::
Anyway, I'll get to extort gas money for the trip, so that's good news. And I'll have more freedom to roam around town when I'm done with my events, so I'll have better odds of meeting up with
totchiko this time around! :D And I am *definitely* going to demand an Executive Veto on who rides in my car. There are, ahem, "certain parties" who were irksome enough sharing the same 12-passenger van last year, so sharing my even-smaller 5-passenger car with said parties will likely end with me jamming something very pointy into someone's eye. ;ppp I don't really have to worry about it until February, so there's time to work things out.
Anyway, my lunch is about over, so I'm running away. ::pwing!::
