Workity work work work. That's about all I did today. Well, that and some knitting.
I think I've figured out why I've recently felt so constantly pressed for time, even on days when I don't get very much accomplished.
See, I've recently been working out on my non-wushu days, bringing me up to 5 days a week of exercise. My body has responded to this by demanding more sleep--I used to get by on 6 hours of sleep, but I can't seem to sleep for any less than 8 hours a night, since ramping up the frequency of exercise. With that in mind, I figure that I'm losing 3-4 hours per week to the Tuesday/Thursday workouts, and I'm also losing 14-16 hours to the extra sleep. That's almost 20 hours, or an average of nearly 3 hours per day, so it's no wonder that I'm stressed out. And here I thought the exercise was supposed to make me feel *better*. ;p
That in mind, I skipped practice today--my stomach was behaving oddly, and I also developed a nice headache (which is still there, I might add), so I decided not to push it. My day felt a lot more productive and a lot less rushed. It doesn't mean that I'm going to quit wushu or anything, but I'm thinking that taking a day off now and then isn't such a bad idea.
I also find myself wishing that I had a day job... it seems as if my time didn't disappear quite so quickly when I was working or going to class in the morning. But, then I remember how much I hated getting up before 8am, and it seems like a fairly small price to pay. :)
