Tonight at practice, they started me on sword basics, and I got a few steps into the straighsword form. Fun! I actually got my sword to make the proper snapping noise after practicing sword thrusts over and over and over. I'm actually noticing a marked lack of strength in my upper body versus my lower body, which kind of sucks, but I guess I can blame some of that on genetics--it's kind of how all Giffrows are built.

Anyway, I'm at the job now, and it's pretty bleh. I kind of want the shift to go fast, so I can go home and sleep or do something else that challenges me more and pays better. :)

Speaking of paying better, I got some work done today for one of my newer clients. I sent them a sample logo, and they loved it, so yay! There's nothing like a little unexpected praise to boost my motivation--I guess I just enjoy it when I can please people with my work.

The rest of the afternoon was spent wrestling with a CGI script that refused to work, but I'll figure it out eventually. I wish I had shell access for this sort of thing, because then I might be able to get more specific error messages than a browser gives me. But, not all web hosts give you shell access, so I just have to rely on my other debugging protocols.

Anyhoo, I'm hungry, and I think we have rides, so I'm off.
