So said the old guy on my trip yesterday. I don't feel like re-telling it, but listen to my phone posts from yesterday if you want to hear my Ramblings From The Interstate! Or, you can wait until I get home and transcribe them. ;p
Today was pretty low-key. I worked out, and did a couple errands w/my mom, and spent the rest of the afternoon knitting and reading from The Twilight Lords. It's a real departure from the edgy fiction and sci-fi/fantasy I usually read, but it'll be fun. My dad is all about historical nonfiction, so I may yank a few books off his shelf on my way home.
We opened our immediate family gifts earlier tonight. (there'll be more at my grandpa's house tomorrow) Among other things, I got a nifty little tool kit that will be a big help to me when I play with computer hardware. I got a nice new jacket that I'm sure I'll wear far too often. I also now have enough underwear to last me through the apocalypse. ::rotfl:: I'll talk more about the gifts later on, once I've put at least some of them to use.
My parents were pretty jazzed about their presents, so that makes me happy. I couldn't put a lot of money into them, but I invested a lot of time, which I figure is, at the very least, the next best thing. :)
OH! And I don't have it today, but I'm getting a Wacom tablet! YEEE! Long story short, the company screwed up my dad's order, so it's not here, but he's ordering from a different company, and having it shipped directly to me in Eugene. Oh, happiness.
Anyhoo, I'm currently typing this on my dad's laptop. Unfortunately, it has one of those weird nubbin things for mouse control, instead of a touch pad, so I'm feeling about 5 years old for all the control I have over where the pointer goes. Grr. But, I'm still AIMing away.
I think I've forgotten what else I was going to say, so I'm off like a dirty shirt!
