"Germanyyyy iiiis victooooriooouuus!"
Dec. 9th, 2003 03:20 amI don't know why I thought of it just now, but I have memories of my freshman year, and playing that silly Attack From Mars pinball machine at the EMU. Of course, all the audio features on that pinball machine totally supported the international stereotypes we've come to know (the subject line quote was uttered in an *raging* German accent), but man, I got a kick out of whacking those martians with a big metal ball. :)
So anyway, my new portfolio is open to the public! I like it. :D It's mostly done, I think. I have a few code samples to add, and some traditional media to scan, but it's mostly going, otherwise. It's been time consuming just compiling my work together, even though I had a good chunk of my works compiled in my old portfolio. I think I've been coding pretty much non-stop for the past 4 hours, and I've been cooped up in here off and on pretty much the entire day, either studying or coding, except for my wee trip to Staples and Safeway.
Oh, and on today's episode of Sarah Is An Idiot: I ran out to Staples to buy a new printer cartridge, because my colour cartridge was about dead. For some reason, when I looked at the massive cartridge display, I saw "HP" and thought "Epson", so I wound up buying a cartridge for an HP Deskjet 880, when I actually have an Epson Stylus 880. It was about 15 minutes before closing when I got there, too, so there was no way I could have returned it or gotten a new one this evening. DUH. A winner is me. ;p
To Do tomorrow: study some more, apply for job, go take final exam, pick up sewing machine.
Anyway, I think I need to go and bond with the TV now. My head hurts from all the hours of cramming in and yanking out information.

Date: 2003-12-09 01:06 pm (UTC)webdevs i know up here who are 1/2 clueless are getting $30-60/hr. $40-45/hr is fairly typical or ~$75-85k for salary positions. granted that's Seattle dollars... but still.

Date: 2003-12-09 01:43 pm (UTC)I've built sort of a mini shopping cart thingy with Javascript before, so I have an idea of how that bit would go, at least. I shall think on it!

Date: 2003-12-09 01:47 pm (UTC)I found out after it was on that one of my college classmates's cousins were the ones who made that show. I was delirious with glee.
