AAAAARRRRGGH
Aug. 5th, 2003 06:57 amI'm sure anyone in Eugene noticed the storm a little over an hour ago. I had fallen asleep on the couch around 3a, while watching the tail end of The Bourne Identity, and the sheer loudness of the thunder woke me up around 5:30. So, I went in to turn off and unplug my computer, because I'd been coding before taking the wee movie break.
But, apparently, I was too late, because now it's COMPLETELY FUCKED and won't boot into Windows. The hardware still *works*, at least, but I can't even boot into Safe Mode.
And of COURSE this happens on the day of my second-to-last internship meeting. I had planned to get up at 8a and solidify my code, but now? I'm on the Mac trying to see if I can cobble the rest of it together with what's on the server.
Worst. Timing. EVAR. >_<
Judging from what it's doing now, I suspect that a boot sector got hosed on the HD. So far, James has managed to dig through my old CDs and start a surface scan of my HD, and homey-C has Norton Utilities downloading on Kazaa. Thank GOD that we are a House Of Many Computers, or things could be a lot worse.
And in closing, Mother Nature can EAT MY ASS.
